I love how the only good reviews are from the stores owners. This place gives hoby stores a bad name. more

Bad selection 11/9/2011

The place seems like it just sells video games and a few comics. A horrible card selection and a guy behind the counter telling me ""There's no money in cards"" and that's why the selection is so poor. If you advertise something you should stock it, just my opinion. If I have 1 dvd in my shop I shouldn't say I sell dvd's. the person behind the counter should get a clue. more

I didn't understand 9/3/2011

So is this place the same place on Rt. 5? The guy said they were not related but why the same name? Are two stores fighting over the same crappy name. I don't get it. This place is a typical mall store. Good for the soccer mom or the dad who's trying to get his son cool but buys something for a mall collectible shop instead. You know the guy, he tries but really has no clue and ends up overpaying for some piece of junk but it looked good framed. $5 photofile pic + $6 frame does not equal $49. The guy behind the counter was nice and the placed looked clean and neat but at the end of the day it's another mall store. Nothing cool about it. Worth a look but not my paycheack. more

Wow! 12/24/2010

Wow, a new location and yet an even worse product selection then before. Kudos to you, I didn't think that it was possible to make me want to go there even less. more

Not worth the gas I spent to get there 11/27/2010

Just moved to the area and was more than disappointed with this place. Not a good selection at all, not organized, less than friendly employees and the place was COLD. Pay your heating bill please! The ONLY pro to this place is that it is located next to a liquor store and a donut shop. Both of which got my business, but not this place as it is not excellent in any way, shape or form. more

WE HAVE MOVED TO A LARGER LOCATION 10/11/2010

Just letting everyone know that the Most Excellent Comics in Enfield Mall has moved to 920 Enfield St. 860-253-9520. Same Prices, Same Selection..Lots of Yugioh and Magic Tourneys. we run DCI for Magic and Cossy for Yugioh. more

NEW STORE EVEN BETTER !!! 10/11/2010

I don't understand the earlier bad reviews. This store was great (and the new location is even better). Large comic selection, alot of Toys. My son and his friends play in the Yuigoh/Magic Tournaments there. It took me a while to find the new store. But thru a friend of a friend we found it. I wish he did not leave the Mall but I guess I can't have everything more

Found new location 10/11/2010

After finding out their mall location closed, I was happy to find their new location on route 5 Enfield. Same huge selection of new comics and was able to continue my subscription (same 20% off as always). Very busy during my 2 visits (must have been 35 people playing Magic / Yugioh). more

Out of business. Not a shock. 9/14/2010

With poor service and a poor selection this guy closes up shop once again. Isn't this like the 5th location that this guy has burned through? Bad service, bad prices (target is waaayy cheaper, I have no idea what the other reviewer was talking about. Tarket is $2-3 a pack not $5. He had is backwards.) There are much better shops out there, Bob's hobbies in Springfield, The Coin Exchange in Springfield, Matt's Sportscards and Comics in Enfield and the Time Machine in Manchester. If you shopped at Most Excellent and need a new place to go try one of those, you won't be sorry. more

Nice Place 8/21/2010

I went into this store with low expectations from the review's here, but I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in, this store focused on comic books and that type of memorabilia as well as a few showcases of trading cards, all of which from my knowledge were in excellent condition and priced fairly, even a little cheap in comparison to stores like target in the mall (packs of cards were 5$ at target, 4$-3$ there). The selection was fairly broad but I was there to sell a collection I purchased at an estate sale valued at 200$. The owner offered me 140$ in cash and 40$ in trade, which was really a perfect price, since it would cost me about 20$ to have them packaged and shipped, and if the online stores didn't want them I'd have to pay to ship back, also I was going to spend at least 40$ there anyways. The owner wrote out a gift check for both the comic store and the gaming store at 920 Enfield St. Which focuses more on the card games as far as I can tell (I haven't been). This way I make a quick buck and he can make a considerable profit over an extended period of time. I called both stores and each was very helpful. While I was negotiating a price with him he had quite a few buyers, so as far as I can tell he gets some good business. Pros. 1.Fair Prices 2.Broad Selection in both stores 3.Friendly staff Cons. 1.They didn't have enough cash in the register when I showed up (granted it wasn't long after they opened and when I came back an hour later they had my money) 2.As far as I could tell only one person ran the actual comic shop with another running their Ebay business. Overall an excellent store, I wont buy cards from anyone but these guys and ebay now, and if I come across more sets this is where I'll take them. more

Avoid this place 9/5/2008

Rude personal, bad selection and overpriced item make this a place to avoid. On the other and the name of the place is kind of ironic in a Bizzaro universe type of way. Lazy service, made me feel like he was upset that my son was only spending $2, like we were wasting his time. A very unpleasant feeling and I'll never shop there again. Pros: I don't have to shop there again Cons: LOL, yeah right more

Most Excellent...Omg what a crock 6/13/2008

Crappy selection and poor, poor service. When I shop at a place do me a favor and watch the language, especially when talking about the compition (who beats you in everything...jealous anyone) it just makes you look like an idiot especially when you lie. You've had a shop in Enfield since 1993...lie, best selection in Ct...lie (any flea market hobby stand has a better selection) but you do get points for cursing in front of my 7 year old. Pros: HAHAHAHAHA...omg, none Cons: How much time do you have more
