Morton Small Animal Clinic

I wish I could have selected "No Stars" for thispathetic company. I watched a tiny kitten get hit by a truck as I was going to work so I turned around to help it. Morton Small animal clinic was right there so I took the kitten in. Dr. Morton told me the x-ray was going to be $63. He also said they could have him creamated for free. (His spine was crushed) They tried to charge me $231.50 and after my husband called, they were only willing to knock off $100! I work at the college here in Athens and started asking around. Everybody has told me their prices are outrageous and they try to gouge you with extra "tests" and things. Several people that currently use them said they will not be going back after the way they treated me. more

I highly do not recommend this place of business. I took my very sick puppy there and all Dr.Morton Jr. Would ask me is " what I want to do". The whole reason I take my dog to the vet is for a doctor to make their recommendations. The overall appearance of this place is very out dated but most of the staff is fairly friendly. more

I am an animal lover...and a dog owner. I have 2 dogs. One is an 11 year old long haired Chihuahua (Sissy)...the other, a 1 year old silky terrier (Rascal). Sissy fell ill for the first time ever a year ago. Dr Morton did all he could to figure out what was going on with her, even met me at the clinic on a Sunday afternoon when she got worse. Dr. Terry has been treating her the last 6 months and she is just as wonderful and skilled. THESE ARE REAL FOLKS that LOVE animals and the staff is TOPSHELF! I have been a client at MSAC for many years, and the service is EXCEPTIONAL! The staff has never been anything but kind and helpful. I was ordering my dog's medicine from 1-800-PET-MEDS, but once I found out that Morton Small Animal Clinic would not only match the price, but also mail it to my house, I just had to start ordering it through them. I prefer knowing where my little Trixie's medicine is coming from. I would just hate it if she was getting expired medicine or something that wasn't up to par. \r As far as I'm concerned, Morton's is the best around, and now that I know they'll deliver, I don't even have to leave the house to pick up Trixie's HeartGuard. more

I was new to the Athens area, and truly had a hard time finding a vet i felt comfortable with. I went to Dr. Morton and Dr. Terry one afternoon with an emergency with my dog "pal". They both were very willing and did everything they could to help him. I had just moved from Dallas, and i went to a very big clinic there. Mortons clinic had all the state of the art equipment that the big clinic in dallas had ( but not the big clinic price) Not only did they educate me, but they helped "pal" to a full recovery.I was able to stay with my best friend through it all ( even in the back!) They also called the next day to check on him. Its like a Big City clinic with a Small Town feel! i love it! Could not ask for more. Thank you guys so much! more

Morton Small Animal Clinic has the best service and staff. I have been taking my dogs, cats, birds, and cats to Dr. Morton and he has always given me the best service around. Professional, respectful, and caring of my animals and my family. Before I started going to Morton Small Animal Clinic I took my animals to other Veterinarian clinics. There clinics smelled nothing like the fresh clean sanitary smell of Morton Small animal clinic. The staff at other Veterinarian clinics did not display nor emphasize to me as the client or owner of the animals that my animals health matter the most to them. I love what Morton Small animal Clinic has done for me and my family. Their best and they deserve to known as the best Veterinarian in Texas. more

I have taken my dogs and cats to Dr. Morton for 18 years and have NEVER had a bad experience. He has went above and beyond to save my animals and has met me at his clinic on a Sunday, in emergency situations. And, it says a lot for him that some of the same people have been working for him since before I started using him. He is extremely caring, as well as his staff. Love them all and wouldn't even dream of going anywhere else! more

I started taking my dog to Dr Morton, about 3 years ago, shortly after he was diagnosed with diabeties and liver decease. Dr Morton and his staff were very gentle and caring of Jack and and made his last view months a comfortable one, for he was elderly and had was a very good companion and loved everyone he was around. We have been taking our dog to Morton's Small Animal Clinic for 3 years and they treat him like their own. They are so caring! Grooming services are wonderful. The groomer is so sweet and my dog just loves her!\r \r Morton's sent us a card with all the shot records of our dog on it. It is like a credit card, that can be used to take with us on vacation. There is also a little keychain card that came with it. They both have our dog's picture on it, all our info and all of Morton's info. Very convenient, and very nice!!\r \r My only complaint is that they won't send the prescription of heart worm medicine to 1-800-Petmeds. They say they'll match the price, but it really isn't about price, it is about convenience.\r \r Other than that, I recommend Morton's to anyone that has a pet a part of their family. more

When I first moved to the East Texas area I was afraid that I would not find another Veterinarian like the one I left behind. Morton Small Animal Clinic put my fears to rest. I was impressed with how friendly and knowledgeable the staff was, and the quality of care my pet received. Morton Small Animal Clinic offers Grooming, Boarding, Dentistry and so much more. They even offer after hour Emergency care. more

The first thing that I noticed about Morton Small Animal Clinic was that it did not smell! It is very clean. I was very impressed with the facilities and the staff is very friendly and caring. They offer grooming services which I was very satisified with the job that was done. My sheltie looked like a beauty queen when they were done with her. I would recommend them to anyone who asks. more

Once you get past the front counter everyone was very nice and caring. (The woman usually working the front counter has quite the attitude, so be warned.) Their emergency services are very expensive and they do not have a payment plan, possibly putting people in a bind. The girls working in the back made it up with their care and concern, staying an hour and a half late to make sure our dog was stable after surgery. more

Easy to find and lots of parking...Very clean building and has seperate waiting areas for cats and dogs. Ear cleaning and toe nail trimming is free with other services and Tuesday is discount shot day. That being said, prices were still too high. Staff was very courteous but didn't seen extremely affectionate with animals. more
