I love sushi -- but it has to be ultra fresh and the best cuts of the best fish and ingredients. For my money there's only one or two places in all of L.A. to get this kind of quality. My favorite is Mori Sushi. Small and intimate, the most exquisite sushi dishes are served on an array of beautiful plates, bowls and platters hand-made of clay by the chef/owner himself. Wasabi is ground in front of you from the actual stalks. Seaweed wraps are fresh and snap fresh. The fish tastes like it just came in on the boat. Mori grows his own rice and along with his amazing sashimi and sushi prepared to order, he has a wonderful menu of creative and tasty dishes -- including a to-die-for tuna tar tare. It's not cheap by any means but there's some pretty good lunch bargains. This place is so good, it has changed my whole idea of sushi.
