Well staffed off season- I liked 9/12/2010

I stayed there overnight in early Oct in 2009 after leaving a bad experience at a resort nearby. They were well staffed with friendly people, the dock/marina was well staffed and the cabin was very nice, but of no real fault of the resort, they had a LARGE youth group appear which was supervised by out of town law enforcement employees, and they (the kids) were ill-behaved, staying up until 2AM or later walking around the grounds near cabins (while their supervision was "socializing" amongst themselves) and making much noise. I would return in the future, just inquire about any large groups staying there in my time frame before my next visit, and ask for accommodations that kept me far from them. more

Moors Resort & Marina is the indisputed BEST! 8/31/2009

YOU WILL NOT FIND A BETTER PLACE ON KY LAKE! Let me tell you a story.... I'm always working on boats of my own and others. I remember 2 years ago I was trying out a repair that didn't work out for me. The winds were high that day. My motor stalled, and there I was, floating away aimlessly! Luckily I had taken a business card off the counter that had the Marina Manager's cell number. I called her! In less than 5 minutes she had me hooked up dragging me back to shore. She didn't have to do that, but she did. I still use their fish cleaning station frequently, even when I'm not buying things there they are still very friendly to me. If you're in the area, you have to eat there. It's unreal! They really take care of you in all aspects. Around the 4th of July you can see the best fireworks display on the lake. Anyone that has one negative thing to say about this place must be looking to gripe about something. I've been there well over 100 times, no kidding, and it is always a pleasant exper more

Moors Resort 4/16/2009

Nice place to stay. We stayed in #27 which was very, very clean. Everything was set up real nice. Couple things I found was that from the website #27 wasn't show to be in a neighborhood of houses, but off in the woods by itself which it's not. Not a big problem but just a little different than we expected. Also little tough to find parking for all our trucks and boat trailers. We made due. Food at restaurant was very good. Everyone was super friendly. Would love to go back when the weather was a little better for us. But would go back tomorrow if i could. We had a great time with the folks at Morrs Resort and Marina. more

Unsatisfactory for me! 8/16/2008

I stayed at Moors resort (lodge) for 4 days, 3 nights. I began developing a rash on my hands while I was there. The day after returning home,. I decided to see my dr., thinking that maybe I had picked up something while at Moors. My dr. told me I had scabies! I immediately contacted the lodge manager to relay what had happened and the response I got was unsatisfactory (to say the least). It was suggested that I had not gotten scabies from their lodge but had it before I stayed there, and also b/c their sheets and towels are "professionally" cleaned. The fact that I had recently stayed in a lodge was a key factor that helped my doctor diagnose my problem. And I do not appreciate the insinuation that I brought this problem to Moors! I will definitely never be back, and would not suggest that anyone go here either!! On a more positive note, the restaurant and marina were satisfactory, unfortunately the contraction of scabies overshadows my visit there. 1 star for unsatisfactory from me. more

Great place 3/26/2007

I was there about a year ago (April 2006) AFTER the tornado. GREAT place. Have every plan to stay there again. Owner went out of his way to be helpful, right up to giving me local advise on a tire shop. Can't wait to try the new restaurant!! Good food, nice, clean place to stay. Highly recomended.\r Tom more

Moors Resort's MAJOR improvements after the tornado 1/3/2007

It is such a shame to see a few people slander others. The sewage problem mentioned earlier was repaired as quickly as humanly possible after a F3 tornado. All the sewage lines were repaired along with all new docks and the campground is gorgeous. The resort took a hit by a tornado adding up to over 2 million dollars in damage and turned itself around in less than a year. That is amazing! It is a shame that anyone would slam people that are victims of such a disaster. And then, to out right lie about the ownership of a houseboat. I know for a fact the houseboat mentioned was purchased before the tornado. Matter of fact, the houseboat was damaged in the tornado. Moors Resort is better that it has ever been and everyone should take the time check it out! You will be amazed at the renovations along with the construction of a new restaurant that is now under way. more

So right 7/9/2006

Disgusting is an understatement. The smell of sewage is everywhere. Go elsewhere. The resort is not what it once was. My family and I have come here for 35 years. We wont be back. Employees are rude and the owner is to good to speak to anyone. By the way, the guy was right about the houseboat.... more

Are You Kidding!!!!!! 7/9/2006

Since the tornado in November 2005, this place is disgusting. Raw sewage leaks from the laundry room, bath house and throughout the campground. Although, the owner of the resort has a new houseboat so I guess I know where the insurance money went. Save the time and the money and go to Green Turtle Bay. However if you are interested in smelling raw sewage instead of a delightful campfire, this is the place to go. PROS: Disease spores are abundant for future scientific experiments. CONS: Don't let this so called resort CON you out of your money! more

Our home away from home 6/27/2005

If you go to Kentucky Lake for a vacation, you have to try Moor's Resort and Marina. We found it about four years ago and we've gone at least twice and sometimes more every year since. They have a lodge with very nice rooms or great cabins. We have stayed in the lodge as a couple, and have also reserved the cabins and taken many family members along. They will also cater to groups like church retreats or wedding parties. They have an adequare marina to rent just about any type boat you are looking for, from fishing boats to house boats. And the country down home food and atmosphere at the restaurant on the grounds can't be beat. In fact, if you catch fish, they'll fry 'em up for ya. It's a great place to ride your bikes or just take an evening walk. There's a pool and a small roped off beach area on the lake. What else could a person ask for. PROS: After you've been there once, they start to remember your face. CONS: Can't think of a one. more
