the tip-off should have been the empty parking lot at dinner time and only a handful of diners inside. the food was awful. fries tasted a day old. i had to ask for mustard for a pastrami sandwich and the waitress tossed 2 cheap packets on the table. pastrami was like leather. asked for water and the waitress brought one glass for 2 people. they should have a sign outside "Eat At Your Own Risk" more

I have eaten in about 20 diners in NJ and the Montville Diner is the worst by far. The waitresses, service, and food are terrible. Save your money and don't even try it. more

Good diner. 4/16/2006

The Montville Diner has a lot of menu choices, and I have enjoyed everything I have tried here. It is a big diner, so there is almost always a table available, and at most you'll have a short wait. Just be careful if you decide to go for brunch over the weekend. The parking lot is always packed, and I'd be afraid to see how crowded it is on the inside! Any other time though, it's a nice meal, and has a nice atmosphere to it. more

great food for a low price.i usually go to the montville diner for breakfast.i have never had it for breakfast or lunch.the place is clean, well lit, and air conditioned.the waiters and waitresses are friendly and try to get food to you as quickly as possible.the food ive had was good and havent had a complaint yet.they also give you good sized portions which arent too big or too small. more
