Great for parties! 11/29/2005

I had a birthday here once, it's great fun to have an entire bowling alley (well, 8 lanes) all to yourself to have a private party. It's also fun to keep score for yourselves, as last I checked they didn't have automated scoring. The food they serve is good too, and they have a few video games to occupy the non-bowlers more

the best bowling alley i've ever been to 10/22/2005

I love this place! I used to go all the time for my little league parties. Its the whole ambiance to the place that makes it feel like a ma and pa bowling alley. I love all the decorations, and the food was always good. almost everyone i know from the Pasadena/la crescenta area knows about montrose bowl and we start talking about all our stories from there. This is the best bowling alley in the san gabriel valley in my opinion. You don't need anything glitzy, just something like this. more

Rent for Parties 8/16/2005

The first time learned about this bowling alley was when a family member held a birthday party there. It is not very big, only 8 lanes, but it is the perfect size for small private parties. The place has kept its 1950's/60's appeal which is probably why it is a popular location for filming by the movie studios. Young children will have a blast with a special lane just for them containing guard rails to prevent the ball from going into the gutter. more
