Best

The fries are to die for. They're battered, and amazing. It's obvious that they care about the customers, in the preparation of the food and in service, all the staff is friendly ...

Worst

Saw the high rating on citysearch... Decided to try it.

Uncooked & Uneaten 11/9/2005

My mother and I went to Monteaux's for dinner. Pros: Inexpensive Cons: Seating, Food, Service more

A Classy Pub 9/9/2005

This was a very nice place... too nice. I personally like my pubs to be a bit darker and less... well... polished, but if you're looking for a nice restaurant, this place has it all. Good selection of beer (wish they had Bass and Harps on tap) and the food was good. I'd recommend the Halibut fish and chips... very tender and great flavor. The cajun pasta wasn't the caliber of Le bistro Montage or the Corner saloon, but it would work in a pinch. Pros: Service, Food Cons: Ambience more

great little place! 9/2/2005

Monteaux's is a great little neighborhood place in Beaverton! We love trying their different world specials but they also have the BEST burgers in town! Pros: food, non-chain Cons: crowded more

ok 8/27/2005

it was my first time in and the service was poor and the food wasn't that great for the money. they do have a good menu selection and good beers on tap. the place is decorated nicely but not worth the money. Pros: menu, beers, good parking Cons: strip mall, service, price more

New overall favorite 12/12/2004

Both my girlfriend and I have found Monteaux's our new standby for "any occasion" dining on the Westside. The menu always seems to have some delicacy that perfectly fits a craving, and the always-good monthly specials provide excellent reasons to become regulars. Sometimes we seem to be forgotten when sitting outside, so we mostly sit in the restaurant. This place is sure to endure, it has all the hallmarks of one of the greats. Pros: Diverse menu, out of the way, ice-cold beer Cons: , outside seating more

Good Food, Friendly Serivce 7/26/2004

I live right down the road from Monteaux's and go there about twice a week. The food is good, especialy the burgers and the Chirizo burger is my favorite. The Service is awsome and their is a bartender that works weekends that makes great drinks. Even If this place wasent close to my house I would still make the trip. Pros: Service, Food, Parking more

Diamond in the Suburban Rough 3/13/2004

Located in a strip mall, I'm sure some food snobs ignore this place. My advice: don't! Great food and equally great (and attentive service). We went to dinner with some friends and their toddler---treated graciously and wonderfully. Food was superb. Pros: Food, Weekend Jazz, Service more

Worth a visit 5/15/2003

We've had breakfast here twice and it was quite good. We were sorry to learn that they are now only serving it on Sunday. Hope they go back to Saturday service. Pros: food, ambiance, bar more

SO YUMMY! 5/2/2003

My husband and I go to Monteaux's all the time, we live real close, and we have never had a bad experience! The food is always great, the service had been slow in the past but they have gotten some great new waitresses and a busboy/host who is the best/hardest worker we have ever seen (he won't let you sit with a half empty glass of ice tea!). We had the BEST desert the other night, a huge yummy gooey hot fudge sundae, probably the best I've ever had! We have have the bread pudding and a custard in the past and they were both yummy too!!!! I would recommend this place to anyone! Pros: Great Parking, Great Prices, Great Service more

a favorite place 3/3/2003

This has become one of my favorite restaurants. The food is always wonderful (especially the bread pudding) and the service is great! more

Tuesday's 2/21/2003

Don't forget open-mike night on Tuesday. We heard some great local talent performing. Also, try the bread pudding with a bourbon sauce. It was pretty tasty. Pros: friendly staff, cozy atmosphere more

Save your money 2/21/2003

Hands down... the worst dining experience I'd ever had! Save yourself the time, money and aggrivation... you'd get more pleasure from a trip through the Burger King drive-thru. Cons: Food and Service, Food and Service, Food and Service more

Oasis in a Mall? 1/14/2003

Well, I don't know 'bout that, but it sure knows how to fill your empty stomach with a style. There is a plethora of well-known, basic American comfort food to choose from. No surprises here, and I mean that in a good way. Burgers are juicy and everything you expected it to be, and their black eye entrees are just excellent. Pros: consistent quality, ambience Cons: none more

Great!! 12/29/2002

Monteaux's is a great neighborhood place to eat. Friendly owners, great staff, great food. We love to go there!! You should try it. more

Good Grub! 12/16/2002

The service was great, service was good. I thought the menu had lots of options. I have been there many times and never had a bad time! Pros: Good Parking, Good Selection, Great Service Cons: Crowded more

Bleech! 11/14/2002

Stopped by for Happy Hour. Food was awful. Stale bread toasted to try to cover up the staleness. Artichoke dip was cold. Very bad. Had a great dinner there months ago. New ownership?? Won't go back. more

over rated not worth the price 10/25/2002

We had a couple events here the service was terible. more

Great music venue? Come on! 10/23/2002

One of Portland's best live music venues, please. Most of the comments I've read are about the food, few say anything about the music. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the music can be good, but there are PLENTY of other live music venues in Portland which could easily beat this place as a top-ten music venue. Besides, it's in a strip mall in Beaverton, not a place to see the best live music in the Portland area for sure. Pros: food, beer Cons: strip mall bar! more

Interesting! 10/17/2002

We found this place because they advertise on the room keys at the Hilton Garden Inn in Beaverton (catchy idea!). We waited for a table at the (smallish) bar and enjoyed the good selection of local brews and premium booze. The martini was worth it! The menu is simple and contains all of the comfort food-type stuff that won't win any major culinary awards but it keeps you coming back for more. We split an appetizer (coconut shrimp) and then each had one of their hamburgers. The burgers were worth a trip; terrific beef and perfectly cooked. We were there on a Thursday and they had live music. It was a bit loud but decent. Overall - If you're in the area, give it a shot! Pros: Friendly staff, Parking, Entertainment Cons: Can be noisy more

Public House, Plenty Fun 10/7/2002

Fun, friendly scene. Food is good, nothing too special though. Come here for tasty drinks and a decent burger. Pros: Good Parking, Nice Ambience more

  • In Short
Warm earthy hues and plush carpet give Monteaux's an industrial family-room feel. Craftsman lamps hang from warehouse-high ceilings over spacious booths and round wooden tables....
