Monkey Joe's

Attended several parties at Monkey Joe's as well as open play. Monkey Joe's always is open to the public unlike other inflatable places. There is comfortable seating for parents unlike other places who only have a few chairs along the wall for the adults. Monkey Joe's is a bright, vibrant place with several inflatable jumps for all ages, video games, and concessions. Other places I've been to are dark, dreary, and not well ventilated. The staff is always curteous and attentive to their guests. Plain and simple...a great place to enjoy open play or plan your next party!!! more

We recently had our 4 year old daughters party at the Monkey Joe's in Wheaton. All in all it was a great experience. Of course it was pretty crowded that day but the employees seemed to be trying to keep the masses under control.The thing I liked right off the bat was I didn't have to worry if my child might slip out the door, I went to get something out of the car, she changed her mind and wanted to go after I was out the door, the employee that was watching the area in the front stopped her but to put her mind at ease entertained her with talk about her birthday, when I walked back in she was happy and content talking with her new friend as she put it. My daughter was very excited about having her own special chair to sit in for her party. We had a host to help serve the pizza and cake, who was very attentive, she actually went out and played with the kids in our party. Being that most of the kids in our party were all four it did make the parents feel more at ease to have her out there with the kids. The highlight of our party was of course the visit from Monkey Joe. Even the kids that seemed to be a little scared at first after Monkey Joe taking the time to interact with them they were not as scared at all. Of course with any place I have gone there are things that I see that would in my opinion work better but over all Monkey Joes seems to do well and works for us. I was even pleasantly surprised with the staff that the majority of are teenagers and were still polite and understood they needed to pay attention to the children. We have been back twice just to play and both times have been just as good. I would definitely think twice about booking her party there next year if that is where she would like to have her party. Just recently had my twins birthday party at monkey Joe's in Wheaton. From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. The staff greated us and gave my twins birthday nametags, so they felt special. Monkey Joe came into the party and danced and played with my kids and the adults too. Monkey Joes has a great set up. The place was clean and looked like it would be a load of fun for the kids. So, I decided to have my son?s 3rd birthday party here. I spoke with the manager (Jason) to arrange my party. I told him that I was on a tight budget and I told him what I could afford, how many people were expected to attend, and exactly how I wanted the party. He was great to work with and told me basically whatever I wanted to hear in order for me to book my party with them. However, on the day of the party things went completely the opposite. Jason promised me a party room, a party host, tokens, birthday shirt, etc. Basically the complete party package is what we were supposed to get. But because of miscommunication between him and another manger who was working on the day of our party ? it caused my son?s birthday party to turn into a complete and utter disaster. Liz ? the manager on duty, gave me a hard time about allowing us to have a party room, refused to turn the heat on in the freezing cold party room, refused to give us a party host or anything else that was supposed to be included with the birthday party. She claims that we booked a group outing and not a birthday party. I corrected her and explained to her everything that was explained to me by her manager, Jason. She started giving me an attitude and told me that Jason never would agree to those terms and called me a liar. With defense I told her that she was not there during my conversation with him, therefore, she has no idea of what was promised to me. She became belligerent and started to yell at me and another one of my party guests telling us to leave and that we were not welcome there. She caused a huge scene and caused great embarrassment for me and my party. She quickly realized her inappropriate behavior and apologized and told us we could stay. I decided to stay despite what happened because the kids were excited and ready to play. Unfortunately, due to the circumstances I was not able to spend a great deal of time playing with my birthday boy ? I was bombarded with the duties of the party host that we did not get. Also, throughout the duration of the party, I was greatly disrespected from 4 employees at Monkey Joe?s, I did not receive the party package that I was promised and paying for, and my entire party was ruined. Guests from my party were even involved in trying to help stop the chaos that we were encountering. This party was the party from hell. All because lack of communication and POOR customer service the special day that I planned for my son turned into a disaster. Even this review cannot justify my experience that I had with Monkey Joes as there are way too many incidents that happened that day to document them all. I would not recommend having your child?s birthday party at Monkey Joe?s. There is another place called Pump it Up that has the same kind of set up as Monkey Joe?s ? I would try them out before I would EVER consider going back there again! Pros: Fun Enviorment Cons: Horrible customer service!!! more
