The staff was very professional. However, I was informed I needed thousands of dollars of dental work. NO, I did not. I understand that this is the nature of a place like this, Monarch Dental; please let me explain, however.\r
I had been at my normal dentist less than 6 months prior, but had to find a new place, new job equals new city. First visit, not too bad. Long wait in a very uncomfortable waiting room. I get back for xrays, put back into waiting room. Finally get into dental chair, and see Dr. Rushin. The walls are dirty. The floors are dirty. The chair material is ripped in multiple places and the vibe is negative. Hygienically, I was completely grossed out.\r
I am asking to have one tooth looked at, I get a huge shpeil about my entire upper left side of my mouth will need crowns. Ok, fine. Sure, perhaps down the road when I am in my 40s. I get my cracked tooth worked on and a temporary placed on it. Fill out a finance form to pay it off which the price included the crown as well. The most expensive crown you can get, Zirconia. She says this is because I grind my teeth. It was VERY expensive and not needed.\r
Here is the worst part. I come back to get the crown put on. I'm in the waiting room, still very uncomfortable and not just visually. I wait THREE hours!!!! When I am finally brought back, Dr. Rushin is in a bad mood. She has me put in an room made for a left handed Dentist. She is sighing, looks annnoyed, and acting like she wants out of there. She was not the only one!!!!\r
She drags the table with dental equipment, wiring, and other items they use across my lap and the things hanging from it lay across me. I am very uncomfortable and very unhappy. She is still sighing and annoyed. Pulls off the temporary and proceeds to ""clean"" the tooth that was under it. She is using the drill aggressively and I cringe multiple times. She did not use anything for pain and the nerve is on fire. I had tears coming out of my eyes. She stops, pulls back and says, ""Now look, this is going to hurt. You have to be still. You have to be grown up!!""\r
WHAT??!! I am in my mid 30s, I am an adult, you don't talk to me like that. It was horrible!!!\r
\r
I'll spare the remaining experience and let you know that I had a $40 balance on my account that was due back to me. This took over nine months to get back after multiple phone calls and voicemails. I will NEVER EVER go back. It was the worst dental experience of my LIFE.\r
\r
These dentists that work at these places must not be very good. Why else would they be working there? Why didn't they provide me the option to come back another time to get my crown instead of saying it will be any time for THREE hours. \r
\r
Now I'm on their email spam list and have unsubscribed multiple times and called them to remove me and still nothing has worked. I have decided to instead write reviews so others know what they may be about to go through.\r
\r
I have changed my dental insurance for $3 more per week to get to go where I want. It's worth it. If you can do that, just please please do this. Monarch Dental and Dr. Rushin are horrible.\r
