I have been here for afterwork drinks and later in the evening to see great live music. They always have fun music and I love that they have $1.00 tacos everyday! The bartenders are cool, never ignore you like in some places. This is one of my favorate neighborhood spots! more

Great scene, delicious tacos 11/24/2008

I've been to this bar several times and it never disappoints! Great talents that perform here on weekends and the food is great during happy hour. Great staff, very attentive and kind. I go there every time I'm in North Beach! more

Mo Jitos Please 11/21/2008

""The difference between a good mojito and a FANTASTIC MOjITO is in the details. Ensure a fantastic hour of fun and drop into this big Mojito that's cozy fun, with friendly staff, rockin' crowd and tasty food. Excellent for impromptu gatherings and to celebrate a promotion, birthday, divorce.. whatever your life ordered! Ideally located for easy meeting by foot and all points of the City."" more

Yummy Tacos and Strong Drinks! 11/19/2008

I have found my new fav dive bar for tacos and mojitos!!! My husband and have already been in twice, yay for this great little spot in North Beach. What else is there to say great cheap eats and strong drinks, this is a little piece of heaven. I would reccommend to anyone. Pros: $1 tacos, you cannot beat that with a stick Cons: parking in North Beach... more

Tasty $1 Tacos! 11/19/2008

I'm new to town and I loved discovering Mojito's! Saw the great reviews and they are true. The dollar tacos are small but great and the happy hour is fun. Good crowd and nice service and of course, an excellent Mojito! Pros: Go for the Tacos, stay for the music! more

Come for a bite, stay to dance 3/2/2008

This is one of my new favorite spots. The new menu is awesome and cheap (tilapia and prawn ceviche $10, yum!) and they serve 'till 1am. Finally something decent to eat late nite in North Beach. The mojitos are tasty (Pomegranate is my favorite), the bartenders are actually nice, and the music is no-fail...I've never heard a bad band here. Every wednesday is reggae, thursday is latin, and whatever local talent comes through always gets me moving. It's a great place for singles OR date night 'cause the atmosphere sure gets hot when the party gets goin'... Pros: music Cons: parking more

Real music and cocktails 1/5/2008

Probably the best up-and-coming small music venue in the city of San Francisco, and I go out a lot. Great drinks (yes the mojitos are fab), energetic scene - yummy bar bites - simple stuff like quesadillas and tacos, and at a nice price too. $2 Tuesdays - $2 beers and $2 tacos really pack 'em in. Amazing live music from around the world 7 nights a week, happy hour daily, friendly staff - these guys really know how to throw a party. I love the world vibe they put out there, it creates a very positive and friendly environment and makes everyone feel welcome. The bar opens at 5 and the music usually starts around 9:pm. Bring your dancing shoes! more

Slow, Bad Drinks 11/16/2007

Do people really eat here? The dive bar atmosphere, enhanced by blaring recorded music and CBGB-esque bathrooms, is not inviting. There was one bartender on duty as the place filled up for the night's live music. He was very slow and made some people wait longer so he could give preference to female friends who showed up. The mojitos are made individually by hand, which is nice, but the rum wasn't the best, so at $7 each, I found them overpriced. A subsequent vodka tonic was ruined by the bitterness of an old lime. I was growing old waiting for a third drink, and by this point they were pouring them in plastic cups -- no thanks! I went down the street at this point for a nice glass of wine accompanied by jazzy jamming. Pros: Music Cons: Service more

nice place 9/11/2006

This place is pretty fun. Doesn't get too crowded, they play fun music and have good drinks. Not a club scene, but great bar scene, enough room to dance and they have some yummy finger foods too. Of course, you gotta try their Mojito's! Pros: cool spot, fun music more

Great Saturday Night Spot 9/2/2006

Slice of Havana 7/22/2006

This place feels like a slice of Havana right here in SF. Be sure to go on a live music night - the 15-piece Latin band Grupo Fantasma was there this month and had the place overflowing into the street. Plus people were really getting down, so it was super HOT - though the ceiling fans and open doors between sets cooled things down. Bring earplugs too, 'cause things can get loud. Super tasty food, great music, beautiful women - I was gonna just stop by and ended up staying all night. A very cool vibe and a unique hang. I think Tuesdays they have a crazy special where everything is $2, but I'm not sure. Definitely worth checking out. Pros: Music and Food Cons: Parking more

Best Looking Female Clientel 7/19/2006

Great, welcoming atmosphere. Owners make a special effort to make you feel like you are a member of a private club. Cuban food fused with Chinese spices, makes for some of the best black beans, rice and tacos, I've ever had. The Mojitos are handmade, with just the right touch of rum, so as not to overwhelm the refreshing fresh mint flavor. Watch the bartenders plunge the wooden muddler into the carafes to release the delicate flavor of fresh mint. Don't expect to get blindsided by the kickers in these drinks, they are so well engineered that you can drink them all night, and still enjoy the subtle flavors, plus a nice buzz to boot. more

The coldest restaurant in SF 12/16/2005

The food was very good and the portions were great for 3 of us. But there IS NO HEAT. I wish they could make it more cozy. I never write reviews but I had to warn you. more
