My husband had a horrible experience with this establishment on 8/31/11. The dentist showed absolutely no concern for comfort or care of the patient. The dentist gave my husband two shots of Novocaine, waited about a minute and began working on the tooth, causing immense pain to the patient. When my husband was finally able to communicate to the dentist that he was in pain, he was given another shot of novocaine and the dentist immediately went back to work. I do not understand why the dentist would not wait long enough for novocaine to actually numb a patient, and once being told the patient was in pain, it is obvious that another shot of novocaine and going immediately back to working on the tooth would NOT be any better. My husband is stubborn and just put up with the pain, but it was excruciating. I was extremely upset upon learning of his experience at Advanced Dental Group.
The dentist did not seem to care that my husband was in immense pain (which was completely unnecessary), and even seemed 'put out' to have had to give him more novocaine. My husband has had a root canal done previously, so he knew what he was supposed to experience. I didn't even realize that people actually had experiences this awful at dentists, I'd only seen such a thing on TV! The dentist was very rough, my husband describing him as a ""monster"" the way he was handled. I absolutely would not recommend this office based on that experience. Even though only one dentist performed the procedure on him, I would steer clear of any of the branches of Advanced Dental Group because anyone who would work with/for someone who would show such lack of concern for their patient is not someone I would want to go to.
After this experience, there was no way we would return, even though he had only had half of the procedure done. He was left with a temporary crown on the tooth, which had partially broken the same day, and had fallen out completely within a week. (So in addition to terrible service, the work was poor too!) My husband was about to go into major surgery the week after the initial procedure so he was unable to get the temporary crown fixed, but even if he had, it would not have been worth it to let the dentist go anywhere near his mouth again, even if they had been willing to fix it with no additional charge. My husband's surgery has prevented him from being able to get the crown put on the tooth, so he has had to use over the counter tooth filling since the temporary crown fell out. And note my husband had told them that he was to be going into surgery and knowing he would not be able to get the crown for months, the dentist said the temporary filling should be fine, which it was not. And my husband has had the procedure done before, so he followed all rules and didn't do anything to cause the temporary filling to fail.
There are many choices out there and consumers do not need to pay good money to be treated poorly. The whole ordeal has been physically, emotionally, and financially very painful. I would absolutely not recommend Advanced Dental Group to anyone.
