My experience with Modesto Collision has been a frustrating and disappointing experience. After my truck was stolen and recovered, I was advised by Allstate to use Modesto Collision for the repairs. The repair process took almost 8 weeks and the delay was always someone else's fault. Even so, I could still have been a satisfied customer considering the fact that my technician was a very empathetic and nice guy who had arranged for a rental car during the last week of repairs and was extremely accommodating. The last straw, however, took place at the 11th hour when the insurance auditor went to the collision shop to do a final inspection on the "repainting" and repair. Modesto Collision told me that Allstate had instructed the body shop to mark up the cost of the tires by 25% in spite of the fact that I had both a written estimate and verbal agreement from my technician at the original cost. Allstate now claims that to be untrue. This money would be coming out of my aftermarket parts limit of $1000 leaving me with nothing to cover the additional items that were stolen. At this point, both Allstate and Modesto Collision have made it clear that this retrospective mark up is ?standard business practice? and ?completely acceptable?. Neither Allstate nor Modesto Collision is willing to stand behind the written estimate presented both by Allstate and Modesto Collision and the verbal agreement I had directly from Modesto Collision. I am now left with an additional $500 loss and the misery of having to deal with such a negative experience. This will be the last time that I use the recommended body shop from an insurance company and I feel I have no choice but to end my 14 year relationship with Allstate Insurance Company. I do not recommend Modesto Collision for auto body, collision, or any of your car repair needs.
Pros: Nice technician
Cons: Review says it all
