UU Health clinics are terrible. I made the mistake of visiting the Redwood
When I went in, I was dangerously dehydrated and terribly sick with body
pain, cramps & headache. I got sat down in a room and then was forgotton.
Every 15 minutes or so a nurse would poke her head in and says ""What doctor
are you seeing?"" When I told her I hadn't seen anyone yet, she would say to
wait there. This went on for a little over an hour, until a nurse finally
said, ""I need this room."" I got a little preturbed and told her I had been
there over an hour, not seen a doctor and no one had even inquiured about
me.
Finally, I managed to see a Doctor who was shocked about my dehydrated
state and told a nurse to give me a saline drip. They wanted a urine
sample, but I could not pee so the doctor had two more liters of saline
administered. I still hadn't peed yet, when the doctor then came with ""my""
urine sample test results. When I told him again that I hadn't peed, he got
visibly angry and went into the hall to have a go at some nurse staff. I
got a fourth liter of saline, but they then said to forget about the urine
test and go to hospital emergency if it got worse. They never offered an
antibiotic regime of some pain med until I asked for them. They didn't want
to provide any pain med to relieve my suffering even though I was obviously
in terrible pain and not and addict. They finally relented when I begged.
Furthermore, I was witness to two nurses talking smack in Spanish about
some poor sick woman in another room. They did not think I could
understand, but when I told them in Spanish that I thought they were
behaving very unprofessionally, they high tailed it out of there.
There was no follow up & they didn't seem to care if I lived or died. I
went back twice to renew my meds and the service was also very bad. I saw
the doctor I first had walking by & he didn't even recognize me. One doctor
was trying to get me to take a number of expensive tests, while another
warned me that these were unnecessary and unlikely to produce results, he
also told me it was very bad that they did not hydrate me enough for a
urine test or take a blood test on my first visit, because that was the
best time to detect a virus or flu. I did take a malaria test because I had
been in the tropics, but I never got the results of this test. When I
called and inquired, I was told that if no one contacted them they must
have been negative and that they could do no more to get me my test results
Finally, even though I had paid all my copays, $60 was apparently left
outstanding. I never received a bill from them until after the reported me
to the state attorney general. They sent me to collections for $60, damaged
my sterling credit and I never got so much as a phone call. They were very
indignant when I went to discuss the situation with them.
I would never, ever go there again, ever.
