Not quite what I expected 8/24/2013

While the service was good, the speakers that I bought failed to live up to expectations after having heard them on the floor. I was undecided on a pair, and eventually went with Hertz speakers that typically are placed as rear units, on the advice of the salesman. In-house they sounded fine, but in my car they are way too bright, and I can't help but feel that a component set designed for the front would have been the better option. Can't really put all the blame on MW though. They are my ears after all. Live and learn. more

There really are angels among us! 4/26/2013

This place is awesome! I live in Roseburg and on my way to Portland for my 12 year old daughter's surgery, tried to "fix" the power outlet in my Honda. I was able to dismantle the center console, disable power to the stereo and not get everything back together... I was very frustrated and started searching for stereo stores as soon as I had some down time at Doernbecher. I came across Mobile West using Google and read all the amazing reviews. I found my way through the big city traffic to the store and explained my idiocy to a very pleasant guy named Peter who asked me to come back the next morning. I did, was greeted very nicely and got my car right in. After a short wait, Peter brought my keys to me and simply said "have a nice day"! Wow! This place is top notch and I have already started recommending it! Thank you very much, you made my circumstances a little more bearable since I will have music AND a charged phone on the way home! more

Galaxy S3 headphone jack audio upgrade 3/1/2013

Just had a Kenwood installed in my truck. It was only $120! Only problem was that I have a Galaxy S3 and the mp3s sound terrible through the auxiliary input. Too bad I don't have an iPhone, right? They recommended getting a 16 Gb micro thumb drive to get CD sound quality, which I did. Works great! But it still bugs me that my phone can't produce the same sound. Excellent + 2/10/2013

I shopped and shopped for a new audio system for my Jaguar. I was going to be very particular about the system AND installation. Peter Clover was happy to email 3 different options - without a big pressured sales pitch. (No pitch at all actually - just facts!) So, I narrowed it down to the final 2 companies "big box retail" vs. Mobile West. I could not have made a better decision. Everyone involved from Sales to sending me home was outstanding +++ ! If you are shopping - stop - and buy here! They even gave me a car to drive around while the install was taking place. WOW! more

I learned my lesson from buying a car stero duting a ""Tent Sale"" 10/26/2012

I spent over 90 hours searching for a small power draw in my 1991 nercedes 560 sec. mobile west found it in less than an hour, it iwas in the way the ""Tent Sale" installer installed my radio. Mobile West will not try to sell you something you dont need, VERY PROFESSIONAL COMPANY AND VERY PROFESSIONAL INSTALLERS ""NO SHORT CUTS IF THEY CAN"T DO IT RIGHT THEY WON"T DO IT AL ALL>>>> MY 1991 is my BABY 99 RESTORATION I Get nervious when anyone other than myself works on her, however I have no problems letting Mobile West Work on Her Thanks again Jim P. Great service, great advice, no up-selling 10/15/2012

Wonderful experience from start to finish! They steered me towards the right set-up to upgrade my factory-installed (read - horrible) audio system, worked within my budget and helped me figure out how to get the most bang for my buck. Peter was fantastic to deal with, and very interesting to talk to as well. Now I'm probably never going to leave my car because it sounds so amazingly good in there. more

Peter and crew are Fantastic! Honest, enthusiastic, and highly skilled. I just had my 2011 wrx dynamated and it's a whole new driving experience. This is my third visit to Mobil West and I am a huge fan. Peter knows his stuff inside and out. No up selling whatsoever. He listens to what you want, your budget, and designs the best system within those parameters. If there is any issue whatsoever with the install he will take care of it--period. Love this place. New stereo in a Sprinter Van 4/4/2012

I am really impressed with Mobile West. The owner, Peter, is so friendly and knowledgeable. While my installation was being completed he visited with me and explained solutions that I might be interested in down the road. The install was done quickly and the waiting area is nice too - plus it's fun to play with other stereo equipment. After the install was completed Peter took me to my Sprinter and gave me a demo on how to use the Stereo which was super helpful. Who has time to read the manual right? When I need more work done I'll be calling Mobile West. more

excellent service! 4/3/2012

These guys are very cool. I had them install an ipod connector in my glove box, and was unhappy with the sound quality that it produced (there was a dramatic disparity between CD and the iPod). So the owner walked me through the options to improve the sound quality without breaking the bank, and now I am very happy with what we came up with. Best of all, they didn't charge me for the additional labor. Yay, no more CD's!!! more

Christmas Present - Mobile West Is Top Notch! 1/1/2012

My wife commented that she enjoyed listening to music and talking with our daughter at college hands free while driving our younger daughter to school. We had an old stereo (2000 Honda Civic)that came with the car. I looked around to find a store that would listen and make her feel comfortable with the choices and gave a her new car stereo for Christmas. Mobile West was top notch from my first phone call. The appointment went great and we have a great new stereo system. She can listen to music from her iPod or DroidX phone and speak hands free with our daughter. Mobile West is highly recommended! more

Absolute Integrity and a Truly Customer Oriented Business! 11/21/2011

My experience with Mobile West wasn't typical, we had an installation done and there were several issues. Despite this Pete and his staff continued to do everything they could to ensure we were happy customers. The customer service and passion that Pete has for his customers is second to none. You can go to Mobile West knowing that you will receive good, fair treatment and if anything goes wrong they will stand behind their work and their customers 100% of the time. I am visiting Portland and got a Google Coupon for an iPod connection in my car radio system, which I have always wanted and thought I couldn't have. I was a little skeptical that I could get such a great deal for the price, but decided to go ahead and trust both Google and Mobile West. I was very impressed with the professional service, the quick turnaround and the friendly techs. I love my new system. I would definitely go back for any and all car audio work. more

After some frustratingly bad experiences dealing with immature and unknowledgable salespeople in a competitor's shop, I happened upon Peter and Phil at MWC. I will never go anywhere else ever again for my car audio needs. more

Mobile West in Portland Oregon is by far the best place to get all mobile audio equipment and installation! There customer service is exceptional along with installers with decades of experience. Do yourself a favor and forget all the chain mobile audio shops and go to mobile west, you won't regret it! I have had multiple audio systems installed there and they always take care of my needs when other shops would not. They stand behind their work and if anything happens they will make it right. I will not go anywhere else for stereo systems, alarms, navigation etc. more

Best Customer Service 3/9/2011

I just upgraded my car stereo to a new Alpine 126BT and an Alpine mini amp. This was my first purchase at this store & is now the only place I'll go for car audio. Doing business with Peter was like doing business on a handshake. All my questions were answered and after the install I was given a demonstration of how to use my new stereo. WOW! I'm from Alaska and was working in Portland for a while and wanted to look for some subs for my new truck. So I looked on the Internet and found some local shops to look at. After a few disappointing trips to other shops I came here. Found some subs that I liked and came back to Alaska. When installing them. They blew. I called Peter and he had me send them back for some different ones (thanks). Well they didn't fit my box cause they were a bigger sub so I tried selling them locally through a shop were somthing happened to one of the subs. I called Peter again and he again had me send back the sub for a new on. This guy is great. He runs a great business and has great products. I read a ton of great reviews on this store and wanted to add to it. Thanks Peter. more

Mobile West is there every time for me. I have done business with them for 15 or 20 years. We continue to use them because they treat us so well. If there is an issue, and working with electronics there sometimes is, they will fix it immediately. If our customers have questions they will take care of them. I have two cars in there right now, and their work is fabulous. Peter has taken care of us forever, Matt is great, everyone is really great. I am one of our company's fleet managers, and Mobile West takes care of our customers and of me. They make sure to bend over backwards to make things right.
