I love the history in our area. This is another one of those great places to visit to expand your knowledge of the area. My kids love the tour guides all dressed up. But my kids favorite thing? They think it's cool you are standing on top of the I-10 tunnel! Ok, you lead a horse to water... you know the rest. Anyways, this is another great educational family outing in our wonderful city. Parking is free. See if you can see a concert out here for the Fourth... LOTS of fun to hear the Pops Orchestra and live cannons! more

Mobile's Welcome Center 7/8/2005

Visiting Mobile?, or just want to know about your city?.. It is has a wealth of information about the history of Mobile, starting back in the 1700's.. It also includes a replica of the oringal fort, on the very spot that the fort was built over 300 years ago.. the other good thing is they will tell you all the right places in Mobile to visit, give you coupons to many of them, and give you a map with the directions to get there.. what more could you ask for? more
