fell in love with Miyo's 3/1/2010

I used to live in the Columbia/Lexington area, and fell in love with Miyo's & M Cafe. Last year my job relocated me to Charlotte, NC where I haven't found any Asian restaurant that tops Miyo's & M Cafe yet!! This past weekend and on many other occasions, I drove down to Columbia just to have a little taste of the best Asian food that I've ever had! Have you ever considered opening a restaurant in Charlotte?! Anyway, I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy the food at Miyo's & M Cafe as well as the wonderful customer service. I've never ever been disappointed! Thanks for all that you do to make it such a great place to relax and eat! more

absolutely loved your food 2/24/2010

Thank you so much for everything. Everyone absolutely loved your food, and of course, your staff was wonderful. Your level of professionalism and service is so appreciated; and I do look forward to us doing more events together. more

everything was flawless 2/23/2010

Oh my goodness! What a perfect party! The location, the ambience, the food and drinks, the service, everything was flawless! I owe Karl an apology because I was late (I had to pick up my Dad and he couldn't seem to get dressed), but they rolled with the punches. Joey and Karl were so helpful and the staff worked so hard. They thought of everything. They were so prepared, the set up was wonderful, and everyone was very attentive. The guests were so impressed, they couldn't say enough good things. Their appetites were good and only a couple of people turned down the cake! We all agreed this was the only place we would ever have any party in the future. I cannot thank you enough for your graciousness and care to ensure my father had an amazing birthday! Most sincerely, Mary more

excellent customer service 2/22/2010

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you so much for yesterday. It was truly a pleasure to meet both you and your wonderful staff. I greatly appreciate the warm hospitality that was extended. Not only was it extended to me, but I noticed it was given to every customer that entered your doors. It's always great to see excellent customer service. more

amazing resturant 2/10/2010

My wife and I had tickets to go to a movie on a Friday night in the same center and decided to go grab a bite to eat before the movie. Out of all the restaurants on the strip, Miyo's is the only restaurant that wasn't hamburgers or wings. Miyo's is an amazing chinese restaurant that stays away from your stereotypical ideas of a chinese place. Nice sit down atmosphere, great selection, and fantastic service. There was a bit of a wait (10-15 minutes) but it was definitely worth the experience. We were in a bit of a rush to make our movie, but our server (Kyle) provided excellent, prompt service for us. We've been back ever since almost every week to try something different on the menu, from sushi and sashimi, to a wide array of sushi rolls that I have yet to see in other restaurants. Amazing specialty dishes (I highly recommend the Sizzling Tenderloin served over spinach: lightly battered tenderloin tips sauteed with mushrooms in a black pepper sauce that isn't as over powering as it sounds) and amazing wok items. The specialty items can be a bit pricey, but when you're looking for a 5-star meal with a 5-star experience, it's definitely worth it. more

phenomenal 2/4/2010

I love Miyo's. outstanding! A friend finally convinced me to go there for lunch one day and I'm so glad I did. I've since gone back and have not been disappointed. The potstickers are amazing, the wontons are phenomenal and the orange chicken entree was to die for. It's also very reasonably priced. I highly recommend it! more

beef satay skewers 2/3/2010

This location has the best beef satay skewers in columbia. I usually just get that and the fried rice and I am good for the night. -Ebony F. more

service is always good 2/1/2010

No meat, no egg, no dairy....no problem. This is one of the best places to go in Columbia for vegan options. They recently changed the menu and it is easy to select sauces, veges, and tofu (or meat). Service is always good and the food is consistently good. Go here. more

it was delicious 1/21/2010

I went here for lunch on a sunny Sunday. The atmosphere was very inviting; beautiful Asian theme in the front while we were waiting for our seats, hostess was very welcoming and respectful. Once we were seated, our waiter was very accurate with our orders (we didn't have to repeat our order more than once), and our food didn't take too long at all! The presentation on the food was enticing, and it was delicious. If I would go back to Columbia, I will definitely eat lunch or dinner over here! more

Poor Service 9/6/2009

I agree with some of the other reviews about Miyo's having good food, but I have had so many bad experiences with the wait staff (including the horrendous owner) that I will never return. There are friendlier, cheaper, just as yummy Chinese restaurants nearby. more

Worse than you might think. 9/4/2009

While Miyo's has good tasting food, it is way too expensive for what it is (11 dollars for sesame chicken and rice?) and the staff (particularly the owner/manager whom I was unfortunate enough to meet a number of times) is generally rude. There are better, cheaper, friendlier Chinese restaurants nearby. more

Don't bother eating here if you want to enjoy your meal 3/26/2006

If you want to eat dinner 7 pm or later at Miyo's, you can count on a very long wait. It's not that the restaurant is packed, it is understaffed. It seems like their wait staff is stretched and cannot cover the entire restaurant and provide good service. The food there used to be much better, but it seems like they skimp on ingredients now. Do not order their fish - I made that mistake and it arrived full of bones and did not taste good at all. Their chicken also seems undercooked. I also saw a cockroach on the floor when I was there. Need I say more - avoid this restaurant at all costs! more

Miyo's at USC 8/28/2005

At Miyo's you will find as close to fine dining as you can get on a university campus. They offer fast service on cooked to order traditional chinese food. Great lunches that are flavorful and fresh. The chinese entrees are true chinese cuisine. They also offer some dessert choices. Make sure you arrive early as they fill quickly with business persons, graduate students, and many asian students enjoying the traditional cuisine. more
