I love this little place. I've been a customer for years, and have watched it grow and become more popular. They have an extensive and well-stocked produce section. And while the produce isn't always "designer grade" (i.e., all trimmed, polished up and made to look pretty), I understand that most of it is locally grown. It's also much cheaper on average. And they have positively spoiled me with their wide selection of fresh herbs at ridiculously low prices. They also have just about every dried herb and spice under the sun, as well as an extensive selection of dried fruits, nuts, and other concoctions. Their meat dept is not as extensive as the big chain stores (and don't go there looking for pork), but they are high quality (and mostly halal) at competitive prices. And the guys behind the counter are all friendly and helpful. I wish I knew more about Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine because that's their specialty. They have all kinds of unusual sauces, dips, grains, cheeses, and pickled whatevers which are probably great if I knew what I was doing. One of these days, maybe.
The bottom line is that MRM has become the market I go to first, and only venture to one of the big chain markets when I can't find what I want there. Apparently a lot of other people feel similarly, because the place is almost always crowded.
