Not what I was expecting 5/3/2010

I had high expectations for Miss Aimee B's so the food was a huge disappointment. I ordered one of their signature dishes and when I tasted it I seriously considered sending it back but was with friends so made the best of it. Instead of a freshly made meal, mine was clearly reheated in a MICROWAVE which destroyed both flavor and made the layers very soggy and basically inedible for me. I ate very little.... The atmosphere is cute and the lemonade quite interesting; the waitress was exceptional and made the experience livable. I have serious reservations about returning because the food was so inferior. I will probably give it another chance in a group setting but there is simply no excuse for serving microwave-reheated food.... Pros: excellent menu, outstanding waitress Cons: microwaved reheated food! Soggy, soggy crust more

So Embarrassed and Disppointed!! 1/10/2010

Where do I start! I dont think I have ever been this embarrassed and disappointed in my life. I had planned a tea party for my 5 year daughters birthday, I talked to 3 different employees about the details of the tea party. I was told there would be special table linens, tea party class, special meal for her, dessert and her own cake. I was very excited, so to make reservations, they told me the owner would have to call me to make the reservation. When Sherry (the owner) finally called me to make reservations she asked me what time I would like and how many people, she gave me a time frame from 9am-11am or 11am-1pm, I chose the later time due to us having family driving an hour to get there. Sherry took a $50 deposit from me at the time I made a reservation, later that week she sent me a contract with all of their rules on it, that I was supposed to sign and bring with me. SO, the big, day, we get there, and there was NO tea party. I had family drive over an hour to get there, my 5 year old daughter was so excited about her tea party, and she got nothing!! Sherry informed me that they only have tea parties from 9am-11am, which I didnt understand because when I made reservations for the tea party, Sherry gave me two time frames to choose from. I still cant believe, they were supposed to throw her a tea party and have a cake for her and they had nothing!! I didnt even get an apology and was basically blamed for the mix up myself. This was a HUGE deal to me, my daughters 5th birthday, I wanted it to be a memory we could cherish forever, I am very upset, and as you can imagine, wil never EVER step foot in that place again, and trust me, I will let everyone know. I hope Sherry reads this, and the only reason I didnt completely go off on her for blaming me for her ignorance, is because I didnt want to upset my daughter. Please excuse me Sherry, I did look at the contract, just wanted to let you know, that your place isnt made of gold. I have dined at much nicer places and was never required to sign a contract and a deposit for a brunch! It was supposed to be a contract for my daughters TEA PARTY!!!!! You are ridiculous! Pros: Nice waitress Cons: Everything else. more

Superb lunch 4/26/2009

Went with a friend of mine and we both loved the quiche. \r \r I have been there plenty of times before.\r \r I never had a bad meal here, always had good service as well. Pros: Love the Quiche Cons: sometimes a bit of a wait. more

Best quiche I've ever had! And excellent service!!! 1/1/2009

I have been to Ms Aimee B's on several occasions and haven't been disappointed yet! Their quiche is OUTSTANDING; flaky crust, firm yet not overdone. And I love their BLTs...they have beets and cucumbers on them with a great thick soft wheat bread. The Tomato Bisque soup is something to crave. And I don't have enough room to talk about their desserts. Sometimes we just go there for coffee and dessert! I always go shopping upstairs to see what new, unique items are there (they have the upstairs shopping area with purses, jewelry, decorated shirts, some home decor and St. Louis Cardinal accessories for women...and some other stuff but that was all I bought). Their servers are always pleasant, and the one woman told us she had been there for 20 years! It's one of our favorite spots for a nice, relaxing lunch in a quaint atmosphere (or beautiful outdoors when it's warm). We love it!!! Pros: Food and service Cons: Small, so get there early or you may have to wait! more

Will never go back!! 10/6/2008

I took my two daughters for a surprise lunch at Miss Aimee B's. I had been there several times, but they had never been - so I was very excited for them and thought it would be a great mother daughter luncheon. \r I was very disappointed and a bit embarrased. The sever was nice enough, but very SLOW. She waited on a table that arrived (several minutes) after we did, it took forever for us to get our drinks, food and refills. Their special lemonade that - I LOVE - was so bitter I could barely swallow it, I decided not to complain until I found a hair (that was not mine) on my lemon. I have been here several times and have never had such poor service - however on the past few visits I have noticed a slight decline in service. I tried to attribute it to them being busy. However they were far from busy this time, sorry Ms. Aimee B, but we won't be back. Too expensive for a luncheon like the one we had. more

Not a kid friendly establishment 7/27/2008

II was very disappointed in the server and management. My 6 year daughter was invited to a birthday party at Miss Amiee B. The server was trying to hurry the party up, even though the parent had paid for two hours. When all party events were over, the manager said the girls had to be quite. If they were not quite, we would have to leave since other parties were going on. This parent paid for the party just like other guess and was treated very badly. If they can not accommodate children, do not offer to have children?s tea parties or have them when other guesses are not present. I will not go back to this establishment and other parents who had children at this party will not go back as well. Pros: Parking Cons: Not kid friendly, poor service more

Wonderful 10/28/2002

I love this place! They have wonderful food - especially salads, the service is great and they are very nice & friendly. They make the best chai tea I have ever tasted. We love to dine outside in their garden during Autumn. Pros: wonderful food, great service, nice & friendly more

Old Style Elegance 8/7/2002

Miss Aimee B's Tea Room is an excellent choice for those who enjoy the nostalgic. Its decoration takes you back to the early days of St. Charles. The food is also unique and tasty. It caters to the breakfast and lunch crowd and is a real gem in the dining community. Pros: food selection, atmosphere, inexpensive Cons: does not serve dinner more

Wonderful!! 7/17/2002

My friend and I dined for lunch at Miss Aimee B's yesterday. The food was excellent, and the service supurb! It was a bit loud with all the ladies talking, but what do you expect. I love this place! They have a wonderful restaurant and a great gift shop upstairs taking up several rooms! A great place for all your out of town guests. Do not hesitate to dine here!! Pros: Inexpensive, Great Service, Great Atmosphere Cons: Rather loud more
