My husband and I ate there for the first time last night and all I can think is ""when can we go again!"". The food was better than Burns and the service was great! I am one of the world?s pickiest eaters but there was not one thing I would have changed on my order or my husband on his. Well worth the price and a great place for a special night out. We did not have their wine and meal tasting/pairing but we will next time for sure...wonder if I can con the husband into going tonight? (Grilled Chicken was great as was the fish dishes and the duck duo is to die for!!!) more

Creative Food Excellent service 11/11/2009

Can't say enough about this place. I go pretty often and the food is always amazing. We sit at the bar and the bartenders are really friendly and attentive. They always have a very nice wine by the glass and a reasonably priced sparkiling wine. I love the creativity of the chef. He is constantly changing the menu so things are never boring. Definitely reccomend! Pros: food, service, atmosphere more

Pure class and quality 1/9/2009

In 23 years as a Tampa resident, I have gone to this restaurant more than any other, and plan to keep it that way as long as I continue to live here. I have never had a bad dish, an inattentive waiter or a bad bottle of wine. Mise is consistent in it's quality and good taste, without being pretentious! I almost always order the ""Get Blitzed"" tasting menu, which is a set 5 course meal with a glass of a different wine served with each course. (You can order it without the wine at a lower cost.) The chef changes the menu selections every week so you can go back often and never get tired of seeing the same menu. Every dish is a delight to the eyes and the taste. For your companions that wish to chose their own foods, the menu has more creative a la carte selections than any place I know of in Tampa. I have never taken anyone here that was not pleased with the food, the drink, the service and the ambience. Pros: Creative menu, great ambience, good service, excellent wine list. Cons: I really tried but couldn't think of any! more

Great food and atmosphere, reasonable prices 4/23/2008

Enjoyed a great meal here. Had the arugula salad and the Indian spiced roast duck the night I went, and was very pleasantly surprised. Portions were larger than I was expecting for such a place, and the menu and cuisine was fresh and inspired, and changed weekly, which is always a good sign. I got the impression that the chef really knew what he was doing and loved cooking, which I love to see. In addition, prices were reasonable for the type of restaurant it was--appetizers $7-$14, entrees $20-$35, and desserts $7. I was expecting far worse. The atmosphere and decorations were also understated and elegant, something I appreciated. My dining partner's meal was also superbly executed, and he was also impressed. Pros: Great, creative food superbly executed, reasonable prices Cons: Hard to find if you don't know where it is more

Elegant, delicious food 11/10/2006

Great spot for a romantic dinner... a little pricey, but no more so than your average steakhouse. Elegant California cuisine prepared and presented well. Lunch here is a treat and a good value. more

Best dining experience in Tampa 2/22/2006

My wife and I had dinner at Mise En Place yesterday evening and had an excellent experience. The atmosphere is upscale and relaxing and the service was outstanding. Our food was delicious (Scallops for a starter and Red Snapper for me, Salad and a chicken dish for my wife) and the desert was a great finish (the carmel pecan mouse)! I would recommend this restraunt to anyone that likes fine dinning...and I can't wait to go back and try some of the other dishes. Pros: Service, Chef/food, Atmosphere Cons: Expensive bar drinks more
