It looks small from the outside, three decorated windows with unusual flair, but open the middle door and a surprise awaits. Miriam Green is spacious, well arranged, neat, exceptionally clean, and home to two shop Persian cats. With main focus rare and out-of-print books housed in stunning bookcases everywhere, complemented by a gallery of six Connecticut artists. The display cases are filled with so many different objects, yet they all blend--opera glasses, art glass, porcelain, silver, jewelry, miniatures especially Bergmann bronzes, watches, clocks, model soldiers, even a sterling mounted alligator portfolio for telegrams. Everywhere you look there is something else tastefully arranged. A strong collection of art and early pottery, 17th, 18th and 19th c etchings, stunning bronze sculptures, period mirrors, Miriam Green is a disappearing venue, sole proprietor, actual antiques and rare books, and someone expert enough to educate. no credit cards but definite negotiation is the philosophy.
