Genesis Health Clubs - Miramont South

Have been a member since it opened back in the 90's. Has consistently been a great, motivating place to workout and very family oriented also. Child care if top notch. Pricey, but worth it. Also appreciate the flexibility with option to just join Central/North location and skip the south location - which has saved us a lot since we don't need the tennis and pool facility (but can still go for $5 if in the area or want to use the pool). DO NOT join this gym! The facilities may be superb, but that's because they have extorted money from thousands of people to make them so! The management is extremely dishonest and will lie to your face in order to get you to sign the contract. And they will absolutely NOT let you cancel your membership, even if you are moving or have a medical emergency. Basically they'll tell you ""tough luck"" and continue to take out your membership fees. BEWARE! Once they have your account information (which is required) they will dip into it once a month regardless. I suppose this would be an okay gym if: 1. You have children 2. You have LOTS of excess money in your account 3. You don't mind supporting a dishonest, greedy, and predatory business. Pros: Fancy schmancy and free coffee Cons: Too many to list! more

We checked the other clubs in town. Miramont won us over as it was new, clean, well ran, great equipment & classes to join, had a fun atmosphere, and their experienced staff is so friendly. We heard the outdoor pool gets overcrowded in the summer, we'll see. It feels like we belong to a Club, and it's not so expensive that we feel like we're buying one. Ignoring the muscleheads in their little brothers tank tops, it's a nice mix of people that workout there. Separate indoor running area up north - haven't seen that. more
