MAH has a caring staff. My 20 year old cat is doing great under their care. My cat has had Kidney disease for about 4 years now, but she is happy and healthy under MAH's treatment plan. I am very pleased with MAH. more

I used to go to Minnehaha and the care was just adequate. I also went to Diamond Lake Animal Hospital 5754 Nicollet ave south (1 mile away) I found the service and care at Diamond Lake to be superior and less than half the cost. A spay/neuter is 450 at minnehaha nd less than a third of that at Diamond Lake .Minnehaha seems to be owned by a larger company which demands higher prices to get their cut ..If you want to spend more unnecessarily go to Minnehaha. I strongly encourage you to try Diamond Lake. I have sent many their way and had glowing review. more

I've been taking my cats here for years and this is one of the best. They are knowledgeable and caring. They are friendly and really seem to love what they do. When I've called with a question, they not only provide a response, but follow up to make sure that I have what I need. They will often call to check up on a pet after they've been in for a visit to make sure that they are okay. They're EXCEPTIONAL. more

Excellent vet business. We tend to see Dr Tom Schuld most regularly, but all of the vets are caring and competent. Additionally, I like all the vet techs. more

Angelica K response. 1/29/2010

Angelica K. came to our hospital with her young cat, just before Christmas. Her father has been a satisfied client of ours for 10 years. She told the veterinarian her kitten was ?crying all the time, had blood in her stool which was painful to pass?. and had just passed a liquid stool with blood?. She also said the cat ?could possibly have eaten something like string and carpet?. The cat was obviously in heat (crying is the main sign) and spaying her is the usual solution. However changes in stool, straining etc. are not part of the heat cycle. At Christmas, cats love to eat tinsel, ribbons and strings and unfortunately these commonly get caught in the digestive tract and cause obstruction. The doctor discussed the possibility of a string foreign body, based on the history and exam. Angelica agreed to the x-ray which showed signs of extra gas but no obstruction. She declined any other diagnostics and said she would watch the cat for any signs that might mean a surger more

Keep you pets and money away 1/9/2010

I am never bringing my pets here again. This clinic should be embarrassed by the veterinaries they have on staff. The vets here who supposedly have a veterinary license took advantage of me and charged me a ridiculous amount of money for nothing. I found out what was wrong with my cat later and they were way off. I am completely disgusted with this clinic I would recommend it to no one. They will overcharge you and they have no idea what they are doing. My cat ended up being in heat and they did not recognize that, they just wanted to charge me $250 and even suggested we do "exploratory surgery" when the cat just needed to be spade. Completely embarrassing on their part. They refused to give my money back or put it toward getting her spade.I have been with them for 10years and I am happy to say they will never touch my pets or money again. more

Pets are loved here 1/5/2010

Minnehaha is a wonderful place to bring your pet. My cat has Kidney disease, Bobbi (Vet. nurse), Dr. Schuld, and Dr. Stephani have been very kind and informitive. My cat wasn't eating do to the disease and they recommended a stimulate for her appetite. It was very helpful. All the treatments they recommend are standard, and have kept my cat healthy and happy. more

My Pets are Happy Pets 6/17/2009

This hospital is first-class! I used to live in Colorado and never found a hospital as good as Minnehaha. I've taken my cats here for years and they have always treated my pets with such gentle handling and care. After many years I've moved to the east side of St. Paul and I tried 2 different clinics in my neighborhood, but I just didn't find the help and answers and great care that I'd had at Minnehaha, so now we always make the extra trip back across the river! more

Minnehaha Animal Hospital 5/20/2009

A charming, very friendly stray cat was living around our deck for \r several weeks. We were feeding it and watching out for it but with 3 senior cats in our home we could not take in. With all the dangers \r an outside cat faces we were getting very concerned.\r Not knowing what to do next we called Minnehaha Animal Hospital and they had us bring her right in. They explained the necessary procedures and scanned her for an ID chip and did a thorough visual exam. Afterwards they recommended that we put a photo of her on their bulletin board. \r They were very kind and considerate and a few days later we were able to find a nice home for her. It was a great relief and we were very thankful. They were so nice and understood so well our concern. Thank you Minnehaha Animal Hospital! \r \r Jill and Pat N. more

They always offer the best and safest medicine 11/5/2008

I was surprised by Carol P and T.R's reviews that I decided to write my own review. I have been going to Minnehaha Animal Hospital for 6 years, and I am always impress with the caring and informed staff and doctors. They always offer the best and safest medicine, just like my own doctor. My MinPin, Chica, had bad teeth and very bad gum disease. The techs and doctors spent time describing the problem and explaining what she needed and the cost. They were very professional and knowledgeable. They answered all my questions and they care about Chica's health. The cost to clean her teeth was $298.00. If she where to need to have xrays or teeth removed, there would have been additional charges, but that should be expected. I was impressed they recommended blood tests to be sure she was healthy and so they could use the safest anesthesia for her. They also gave her pain medications and antibiotics because her gums were infected. Even though she is tiny and 13 years old, she did fine.I love Chi more

I would never go back again 9/18/2008

I stayed with them for too many years. They are overpriced and everytime I went I felt that it was more of a sales pitch than an exam for my dogs. They lecture and use guilt to get you to purchase additional product or services. I have one dog that has siezures. Initially I was told that I was required to regulalry have my dogs blood tested to make sure the phenobarbitol levels were ok. The test was expensive and no one ever followed up with me to tell me the results. After years of this I complained about it they said it wasn't really a requirement and that I could waive the testing. Then, nearly every six weeks when I attempted to have the prescription refilled, I'd get a lecutre from someone about teh blood test (and some still stated it was a requiremnet, then I'd correct them, then they'd fill the prescription.) I had another freind who had a 19 year-old cat he wanted to put to sleep. When he called Minneahaha animal, they got another lecture "we will not terminate more

terrible 8/18/2008

Rude techs manhandled my dog. One of them even suggested performing an alpha roll on my fearful dog. How clueless! They 're also very overpriced. You have to spend upwards of $600 for a dental cleaning once all is said and done. Other places I went to are less than half the price with the same services (comparing quotes). Never board your pets there. I'm convinced it's stressful because my dog is always sick afterwards. Never going back! more

You can feel safe knowing your pet is in their hands 10/18/2007

I have been taking my pugs and my pitbull to Minnehaha for five years, and I have always felt that they are in capable hands. The techs are incredibly friendly and the vets take an active interest in each pet. I especially appreciate how they treat my pitbull with the same respect as any other dog and not like she should be feared (she is very sweet). My pugs have had breed specific problems that the vets are always knowledgeable about and they always go the extra mile. The office is nice and there is a separate waiting area if your animal should need some space (like a cat). Appointments aren't too hard to come by either. more

Neighborhood feel 6/13/2006

The staff at M.A.H. are friendly, curteous and very personal. Every time I've brought in my two cats, they make a point to visit with the pets right a long with the owners. Other customers in the waiting area always chat and coo over each other's pets. The doctors are very informative and kind. They are very gentle with the animals, and care a great deal about the emotional comfort of the pets. Great service. Taken great care of my pets. Would recommend this place to anyone. more
