Best Sushi Around 12/19/2009

I love Minato Sushi. The staff is very pleasant and friendly, and the sushi is always top notch. I go there semi-regularly, but they always remember me, and say hello when I come in, and that goes a long way. The occasional free cup of ginger ice cream doesn't hurt either. I feel lucky to have this place close by, and if I ever leave Brookline, I'm going to miss them. Pros: Inexpensive, but excellent sushi Cons: Not a very big place, so I usually get it to go. more

Minato sushi is the best place to get sushi. The sushi and makis are great. They have a lot of special makis. They also have a discount every Tuesday! Always come here! more

Seriously great sushi 10/11/2008

I headed out going out for takeout last night, but never took it home. I was greated by friendly smiling faces, and sat down to look through the menu and was treated to hot tea and miso soup. So I decided I'd eat there. I made a great decision! The sushi was fantastic! I had the mango sake maki and a Shocking Maki. Both were delicious. I will definitely be coming back. It may not have all the decor of some sushi restaurants that I've been to, but the customer service definitely made me feel at home. Pros: Great Cheap Food, and Friendly Service Cons: I didn't have any more

Awesome Sushi! 9/8/2008

This place has the best service and the owner makes amazine sushi! I'm vegetarian and go the best oshinko and avocado roll... It's warm and inviting- I'm definitely coming back! Pros: It's cheap! Cons: no cons more

I am a fan of this place. i come here almost weekly. This place offer great sushi and the new owner is really kind. I love the sashimi in this place. Minato sushi have a lot of room and really comfortable. Every since the owner changed i found this place as my new sushi place. They also offer a 15% discound in tusdays more

So this place used to be a great place for quick affordable sushi. In the end of 2007 they changed ownership again and since then quality has gone down the hill. Sushi is warm now. It's not sanitary to keep fish warm. Go next door to super fusion. More $$ but high restaurant quality sushi. Pros: price Cons: new ownership. quality dropped more

Quality, inexpensive sushi fast 9/6/2006

My boyfriend came here and ordered their awesome lunch special (3 maki for under 9 bucks). We were the only ones eating lunch and so when we ordered some nigiri afterwards the chef also povided us with an amazing octopus salad. \r We've been back many times since and always had attentive, polite service as well as fresh food.\r I've been to A LOT of sushi in the city and I really feel like this place is a hidden gem. Horrible food DO NOT recommend 3/15/2006

The food was absolutely horrible and tasteless. Delivery took two hours and was not even to the front door. The driver had me come downstairs and wait in the cold!!! The spicy tuna tempura was not spicy and was soggy not to mention that we didn't even order spicy tuna tempura we ordered shrimp tempura. When we called to inform them of this they didn't offer to help they said ""Try it, it's good."" Sorry but it really isn't. To top it all off they didn't give us any wasabi and only two packets of soy sauce for three orders of sushi. I do not recommend this restuarant it has to be one of the worst in Boston. Pros: Decent Prices Cons: Horrible Service, Bland Food, Delivery took 2 hours more

really good and great prices 12/22/2005

I go to BC and am greatful that Minato Sushi actually delivers to us. The portions are pretty good and not as expensive as other sushi restaurants in the area. I recommend the the spicy tuna maki. It is not the prettiest place on the inside and I have had long delivery waits but the food is worth it. I definitely recommend Minato. Pros: great food, good prices, delivery Cons: ambiance more

I haven't been to Minato since I moved out of Brookline about a year ago. I recently revisited while I was in the neighborhood, and I have to say, it's so much better than it used to be. It's not exactly a place to take your date on a special occasion, but it's a great place to satisfy your craving for sushi and other japanese food at an affordable price. Oh, and they have a few selection of Korean food that's absolutely delicious!!! I highly recommend it for someone who wants a break from the usual boring chinese or pizza takeout/delivery for something more sophisticated and healthy. Great Delivery Place! 9/16/2002

Minato Sushi is located near Washington Square, at the intersection of Washington and Beacon Streets. They serve primarily sushi. Hot food is limited to soups, tempura, and Korean Bi Bim Bop dishes. Point is... don't expect Teryaki, Tonkatsu, or other hot Japanese dishes. Sushi quality is very good, and delivery is prompt. This is mostly a delivery place, with some informal seating inside which is appropriate for a quick mid-day sushi fix. Simply Marvelous 6/27/2002

Not only is Minato sushi is right around the corner on Commonwealth Ave; they also deliver great sushi at a outstanding price. Everything is delicious, ranging from Maki lunch boxes to thier famous Arigato sushi. Its a nice little place to dine in a casual setting. Although seating is very limited; supplies great service. Overall Minato I give a A+, for their isn't another place in the city with sushi for such a unbelievable low price. Pros: cheap, good parking, high quality food more
