Blu Greek Taverna opened in September 2006 and is a nice addition to Marietta Square. My husband and I decided to try a variety of appetizers and just skip the entree. We had the grilled octopus, feta shrimp, fried calamari, assortment of spreads, and the traditional Greek salad. The portions were large, and we were not able to finish everything. The octopus and shrimp were the best. Unfortunately, the spreads were not so good and the pita bread they served with it was thick and dry. (If you want a spread, we recommend going with the eggplant.) The salad was ok, but nothing special. We paid $85 for the appetizers and a carafe of wine, which was a bit high given the quality of food and casualness of the dining room. One thing that made this experience less enjoyable was that the tables were certainly not big enough to accommodate multiple appetizer dishes. We felt that we had to rush through one dish to make room for a new plate, and that was no fun. Having said all that, however, we do plan to return. We met John, the owner, and he mentioned that if we like to try lots of different things, he can make up small plates from the entrees to give us a greater selection, and we will definitely try that the next time. This is certainly no Kyma, but it does offer a Greek option for those who don't want to venture into the city.
Pros: Located in Marietta Square
Cons: Prices are a bit high, ambience
