I stayed in the grandious Millenium Hotel in Durham, NC. Wish I hadn't. Upon entering you see the normal amazing granite check-in counter and large foyer you would expect from a luxurious hotel. You see a beautiful staircase to the right and beyond that is a well manicured coctail/bar area. All this is, must be, for show, to hide the lack of ability to manage groups or possibly just the thought of (200+ persons or money in the simplest terms) clouded abilities such as customer service, guest management, and most of all the ability to charge the correct individuals the correct amounts. Upon making reservations, I was told that nothing would be charged to my credit card seeing as how the entire trip was paid for. Upon checking in I was told the hotel was full. OK, I checked into the Hilton up the road, no prob. I completed my convention which was at the Millenium and checked out of the Hilton. Prior to check out I checked my bank account to ensure nothing was charged to my account. Wrong, I noticed a $58 fee and 2 $78 fees. Upon going to management I was told that nothing could have been charged because there was no record of my stay. They refused to investigate the matter and pretty much blew me off until I turned the matter over to my banking institution. Upon calling they pretty much hung up, and leaving voicemails were of no assistance either. My bank finally called and advised me that upon check-in they used my card number to reserve someone elses room seeing as there would be no charges and all they THOUGHT it would not be an inconvenience. It was and compounded by miscommunication and poor customer service along with the obvious legal mishaps I feel that overall, this stay was severly negative and erge all future guests to request the hotel managers information before leaving because it will be necessary. On the other hand I had a wonderful time at the HILTON on exit 108D off 15-501 in Durham.
Pros: Lobby
Cons: The staff, they're cons.
