Beware of price gouging! \r \r I called Mike's Plumbing & Electric in Pharr for an estimate to unclog a toilet in my parent's home. I was present when the tech arrived and he quoted me a price of $140 but with the caveat that the price could be ""higher"" if he had to climb the roof if the ""snake"" could not remedy the problem. I left shortly afterwards to go to work. Not long after arriving to work I received a text from my sister, who luckily showed up to visit our parents, informing me that the price had changed significantly to $415! The tech had explained to my sister that the snake did not work and the ""dangers"" of using the coil on the roof substantiated the exorbitant cost! \r \r My dad is 90 years old and after receiving the new quote he was in a panic. If it had not been for my sister and a phone call to a knowledgable brother in law my dad would have paid the $400+ which he can hardly afford on his fixed income. Their services were refused outright however my dad was still charged $90 for the ""service call"". \r \r Needless to say I will NEVER call Mike's Plumbing & Electric again.\r \r \r \r \r \r \r more

Mike's Plumbing and Electrical took care of my grandmothers plumbing emergency fast and effeciently. They didn't charge alot and their techs provided excellent customer service. I will only use them for my plumbing needs. more
