I discovered Miel Patisserie in the Village Walk while I was buying crab cakes at Bobby Chez. Miel is a wonderful little shop, with so many cute little cakes and baked treats, all of which look delicious. They also sell bread. The clerk was very helpful and friendly when I came. The store was well-appointed and clean. And, the goods are fabulous. The bread I bought was delicious, and the creme brulee I sampled was extraordinary. The only cons of this store are the prices (cakes can cost $25!) and the freshness of the goods. I came before closing, and while the clerk did throw out the day old bread, she didn't throw out the cakes. I guess they don't bake them fresh each day? I believe that Miel is run by a pastry chef from Le-Bec Fin, but I could be wrong. Either way, it is a nice little shop.
