I've had a really bad experience with MIDWEST OPEN MRI .They have a few places in west suburbs to run their con business . It's owned by a few people , one of them is Nirinjana ...

The front desk staff are amazing and super-sweet, and the radiologist, completely unprovoked, spent probably fifteen minutes going through and explaining the whole procedure to me, even the technical aspects of it that I barely understood. He gave me a lot of good advice on questions to ask my doctor about the results, my rights re: the privacy of the results of the scan, questions I should ask if I ever have to get another procedure, information about the types of equipment and amount of radiation they used, etc. etc. I left there having had a really great overall experience. Plus my doctor had my results within a couple of hours. Can't ask for more than that! more

So glad I found this place! When my doctor ordered an MRI for me, I started having flashbacks to high school and the tiny, loud torture tube known as a MRI that I was stuck in for an hour because I was having migraines. I had sworn I would never get one again. I found Midwest Open MRI online, and luckily my doctor was fine with me going there. The staff was amazing. We called in the morning, and they got me in for an appointment at noon. The Lady at the front desk was super nice on the phone and in person, and the lady who did my MRI was so kind. She wasn't judgmental at all about the fact that I am intensely claustrophobic and a bit high strung. She let me lay on the table and practice going under the MRI several times to make sure I was used to it and wasn't nervous. I even got to hold a panic button in case I wanted out ASAP. The MRI is open, and plenty of room for someone who hates small spaces, but much easier than a regular MRI (trust me, if I was able to do it, you can handle it too!). They get the results to your doctor within 24 hours, and I even got to take a copy of the cd with the images on it. I would definitely recommend this place for those of us who have a lot of medical procedure anxiety. Great people and a calm, relaxed environment!\r Dr. Giri really helped me and was so patient. The staff was Awesome...\r \r Thank you... more

Had a scan done hear earlier this week. Went here cause it was an open MRI machine. Had music for me to listen to which was awesome and they had a device where a mirror was attached to a device in front of my field of vision. Therefore while i was in the machine for the scan.... my view was of Midwest Open Mri is Awesome!!\r \r It really made a huge difference for me. Also Grace was very accomodating with regards to scheduling.\r \r . Nice Tech was my attendant and really made me feel comfortable throughout the whole procedure.\r \r They have a very modern and effective magnet.. I cant recomend this place enough!!! Thanks guys for a good experience!!!! more

If there were 10stars I would give it to this place, especially my lab tech Daniel. This was my first time taking an MRI, and just the mere fact I needed one was scary, not to mention being stuck in a small spaced machine. (even though it's an open MRI, you need help from the tech.)\r \r Before I was actually put in the machine, Daniel showed me what it looked like and explained carefully what to expect. He even offered to sit with me or hold my hand (NOT in a creepy way, but in a very supportive way) That sounded too good to be true, I thought he was kidding. I nodded and asked if he could just sit with me and talk with me. (that helps to get my mind off being in the machine)\r \r Once the machine started, I could feel my heart beat faster and I started getting more and more nervous, and was trying to breathe to calm down. Then before I knew it, Daniel was in the room with his reassuring hand over mine and started talking with me. He reassured me that it was going to be over soon and that many ppl get nervous, then before I knew it, the test was over.\r \r It was so lovely to have met a genuine healer in the medical profession.\r \r BTW, the receptionist was wonderful too, and the test results got to my Dr. the very next day. If you have to get an MRI, this is the place to do it. more

The staff here is really on the ball: they forwarded the paperwork (you know you hate to fill it all out) beforehand and will spend the time getting all of your insurance information over the phone to make sure you don't get smacked with a shockingly huge insurance bill after, which I really appreciate. Parking right there, no meters to fret about.\r \r No one looks forward to an MRI. No one is like ""Hey Y'all- lets party and get body scans, yo!"" No, No... For an experience that could have been awful, they made it as comfortable and convenient as can be.\r \r I'm not claustrophobic, I don't have any piercings, implants, tattoos, pregnancies or anything like that to complicate things so it was as convenient as it could be, the staff, doctors all were really professional. If you need to know fast, call here- CD was given right after and it went right to the doctor too. Smooth.\r \r Now that I know where the pain is and why, the healing can begin. Thanks! more

I am a survivor of 2 unavoidable car accidents. My initial MRI showed I had 2 bulging discs from first accident in 7/06. After 3 years of physical therapy, pain meds and the feeling of things not improving, I was sent to have a follow up MRI.\r \r My back had literally degenerated with now 3 degenerated discs, spinal canal stenosis in 2 joints, a hypertrophied ligament, in one of the joints with stenosis, 2 Schmorl nodes, and 3 bulging discs. Needless to say if it weren't for the MRI in just those 2 times help me to get dramatic treatment options, as of late I had a Radiofrequency Ablation on nerves that go to my spine to prevent pain signals to return to the brain, I'd be in unbearable pain for life.\r \r Though I still have pain it has been reduced somewhat I have a fighting chance. Then due to 2nd accident in 12/09 MRI detected a herniated disc in my neck and since I have nerve damage in my hand diagnosed by my EMG I had just undergone MRI for my wrist and elbow. I have EXTREME Ulnar nerve damage and the EMG cannot determine where if not more than one place my nerve is damaged.\r \r I am waiting for the results currently so that my Orthopedic Hand Surgeon can accurately know where he needs to operate on my arm/hand in order to prevent further UNREPAIRABLE damage that occurs from my impingement. I AM SO THANKFUL I live in an era that has the ability to see these problems otherwise my hand would be clawed and eventually become utterly useless for the rest of my life yet alone unable to ever return to any possible thought of a life at all. And MRI is the only tool that will be able to detect wear my nerve is being pinched other than cut and search. Unfortunately my muscle loss in my hand is very significant already and is more than probable to be permanent, the speed and accuracy of the MRI allows to prevent further loss from occurring and get me REQUIRED SURGERICAL help a-sap. God bless magnets and the beautiful scientist who engineered this medical miracle. I am forever in gratitude for all it's done for me alone. If it were up to me Full body MRI should be part of a yearly physical due to the amount of medical information it provides doctors and the ability it has to diagnose so many conditions early on that could give SOOO much preventative care and health tactile offense. Though I've never played any physical sports in my life any one knows the BEST DEFENSE IS A GOOD OFFENSE. Medically that is spelt MRI.\r \r The experts at Midwest Open MRI found the problem and called my Doctor. more

I have had a headache every day for a year. I thought it was stress.\r \r Then my doctor ordered an MRI. I had a ruptured disc at c4-c5. It was pinching my spinal cord in half its size. I had to have a bone fusion and instrumental.\r \r The headaches went away, but I still can't do certain things, like holding my head down while I read or keep my head turned to the side for long.\r \r Now I have DDD in my lower back and am getting ready to have more tests done for that area\r \r MRIs are great! I think anyone having pain should have to get one!\r \r Midwest Open was able to make it pain free and I had my Report the next day. more

Over the past year I have suffered increasing pain and discomfort in my hip. Much time has been wasted with Physiotherapy (unable to diagnose problem) and repeat visits to GP X-Ray referral (showing nothing - pain on movement or weightbearing).\r \r Each visit with gaps of a month or more before further feedback and again for next referral. At last! An MRI was suggested and taken. Lo and behold. Hip degeneration easily and obviously displayed on the scan. What a shame I have had to wait so long. The problem by now is in both hips. Perhaps useful preventative measures could have been taken with early diagnosis. Now looking at a long wait while the condition worsens enough for surgery. My Doctor should of had and early MRI as a normal part of the diagnostic process.\r \r The expert staff at Midwest MRI in Darien found the problem and called by Doctor.\r \r Thank you ... more

I've had a really bad experience with MIDWEST OPEN MRI .They have a few places in west suburbs to run their con business . It's owned by a few people , one of them is Nirinjana Giri. The office manager is Neela Giri . Though the staff was nice, but they CAN NOT TAKE IMAGES and CAN NOT READ them! And they won't work to solve the problem! I was treated like I was in a third world country! Oh, I was !!! To GIRI FAMILY -Just because you can buy MRI equipment, it doesn't mean you are profesionals! more
