I had taken a very expensive dress to the Midway Dry Cleaners to be cleaned. I pointed out to them that the dress was a very intricate design with straps which acted like a belt in tying the dress together. There was a silver buckle which was attached to the straps and could not be removed from the straps without being cut or forcibly removed. They acknowledged this after examining the dress and assured me that it should be placed in a bag for proper cleaning so that the straps were not damaged in the cleaning process. When the dress was returned the previously built in buckle was dis-attached and more than half of the length had been cut off of the straps. I was told Saturday to come back in on Monday to have it repaired. When I arrived I put the dress on and showed them how it had been damaged. They claimed that absolutely nothing had been done to, or was wrong with, the dress without explanation as to how the built in buckle could have possibly come off without this occurrence and why the ends of the straps were frayed, proving that they had in fact been cut. They were asking questions regarding whether I could call the store where I had purchased the dress and ""prove"" the validity of my claims about the original design. When I pointed out how strange this request was and voiced my suspicions regarding the request, because I felt like I was being set up for a ""your word against ours"" scenario, they began yelling at me. This continued the entire time I was trying to put back on my clothes until I left the store. Oh yes, and they charged me fifty dollars to clean 4 dresses after destroying the most expensive one.
