Bad Customer Service 12/11/2007

I called to see if they had a book available. The man asked me to describe it and then told me, "Uh, I don't think we have it, call a newer store." and then he hung up! It was very rude. I am glad I didn't waste my time going down there. more

Midway Used and Rare Books 9/19/2006

Midway Rare and Used Books is located in Saint Paul, MN. This bookstore has a LOT of books. I'm talking, so many books that it can be crowded. If you have the time, it is a great store to search though, but it may take you some time. The store does have many books, but it's a pretty dirty, dingy store with a lot of very odd and some scary people hanging out. It is located in St. Paul's midway area. Parking is on street only, and you may have to walk a while. more

NIce getaway 9/14/2005

So I have gotten annoyed by the big box book stores of late and gave this shop a try. I found what i was looking for at a very minimal increase over what could be had at large chains. I am happy to support a local store and I had a good experience! more

Good selection, snooty staff 8/19/2005

This store has some of the best selection of used books in twin cities. Everything from vintage magazines, out of print books to newer stuff. Everything is there. You have to deal with the superior attitude of the owner and some of the staff though. You always get the feeling that they wish you would stop asking them questions. If you like to browse great, if you like to ask for help, forget it. Also prices are kind of high, and they don't like to bargain. more

A nice big used book shop 8/19/2005

Midway Books, located on the corner of University Ave. and Snelling in the Midway neighborhood, is a great place to visit if you've got plenty of time. The store is large, with a huge selection of books at great prices. I'm not sure I'd recommend attempting a quick in-and-out at this business, but it's definitely a great place to wander around if you've got spare time. The only downsides to this business are related to its location; parking could be tricky and Snelling is a beast to navigate during many parts of the day. more
