Midtown is the most caring gym I ever went to. When I walked in I was immediately offered a personal trainer to help me start out. Many larger gyms offer this service for free, but you have to jump through hoops to get it, and once you do, the trainers don't seem to care very much because it is free. Midtown is a small gym and very hands on, and not intimidating at all. If you don't go for a while, be prepared to get a call from someone at the gym asking if you are okay, if there is anything they can do for you etc. etc. The pilates class I took there was amazing. Even though it was in a gym, it was very calming and the best gym pilates i've ever been too. The bathrooms are sufficient in size, lockers are cheap to rent, and the bathrooms are CLEAN. They have a great sanitary system keeping it easy to make the machines clean too. There is always clean spray and towels. All in all, if I hadn't moved to Maine, i'd still be going. Infact, they just called me 20 minutes ago because I had forgot to call and tell them I moved! Fantastic gym and atmosphere. Very encouraging. I would recommend this anyday to anyone.
Pros: SEPARATE WOMENS ROOM, Helpfulness of staff, cleanliness of bathrooms
Cons: It is a little small, which means it doesn't have EVERY machine you could want, but there is EVERY machine that you'll need for any strength or cardio training.
