HEAD MY WARNING....DO NOT GO HERE FOR SERVICE!!! 1/5/2012

I had my car towed into Midas Short Pump. $500 later they lied and did NOT fix the problem. I was still having the same problems and had to take the car back. They told me nothing was wrong yet I was still having the same car problems. THIRD visit later, my car was still having problems and they told me to take my car elsewhere. My car broke down right after driving it out of their lot on Broad Street. MIDAS TOTALLY RIPPED ME OFF AND THEY DON'T CARE. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE, PLEASE LISTEN. I called them to tell them my car just broke down and they said they did not care to call a tow truck. THIS PLACE IS A TOTAL RIP OFF!! They will be seeing legal action from me. DO NOT GO HERE FOR ANY SERVICE. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE FOR ANY REASON....GO ELSEWHERE!!!!!! more

terrible 6/4/2011

Went there and priced a tire today, they wanted 250.00 thought that was high so when I got home I google merchants. Well can you believe they wanted 140.99 for the same tire mounted and balanced. Thought people should know the extreme difference. Just sick! Stay away from those criminals. more

Worst place ever 11/1/2010

Mark Smith totally tried to rip my daughter off. $40.00 to clean battery cables. Had the work done at another place for 1/3 of the price. All Mark could say was ""I sleep fine at night"". He is in business to take advantage of people. Stay away more

stop ripping people off I was told i needed a lower ball joint on my 06 Ford truck to pass inspection. the vehicle only had 32,000 miles Cons: 698.00 for a ball joint I got a quote for 170.00 more

Unusual experience from this shop. Purely no-recommendable. 11/3/2008

I took my 1998 Ford Windstar minivan to this repair shop on Fri, 10/24/08 and explained that the car was making a noise. The car makes noises that sound like they are coming from steering. The noise gets much louder when I turn. Midas quoted me $494.87 to replace two tie rod ends and said this would stop the noise. Cons: Low knowledgebase, extremely bad customer handling, more

Horrible experience 6/26/2008

I had my car inspected at Short Pump Midas (the Virginia State Inspection); they called 3 hours later and told me that they had to fail my car because of a loose fan speed control cap. Then they offered me that if I pay them $32 to replace it, my car will pass. Can you believe it? Fail an inspection because of a loose fan speed control cap! It is no difference than robbing. I took my car away and had it passed at a different shop. Later on, my co-worker told me that Midas is infamous for such practices. Don't go to Midas if you can. more

Unfortunate experience 6/24/2008

Cons: Diagnostics were incorrect, defective part installed, car broke down on way home from the shop, massively inconvenient. more
