Word of warning to anyone considering employment at Michaels...DON'T DO IT!! I know first hand as well as hearing from other employees. This is one of the worst companies to work for. \r \r While they come across as professional and very promising don't be fooled by the ruse. \r \r It's all part of the facade. Once you are in it's nothing but lie after lie, excuse after excuse.\r \r This company is cheap. They hire menimal employees and work the hell out of them while compensation is less than desirable paying as little as possible.\r \r They start you in a position with little or no training and by the end of the day you feel degrated and humiliated.\r \r The management takes full advantage of their position. They often takes personal problems out on you as well as, yell, talk down and belittle you in front of customers and other employees. \r \r Ther rules also change as they see fit. \r \r One example would be... a Dr. note that had always been fine before was suddenly no longer exceptable. more

they are ok..some lower prices then regular art stores.but they have lots of extra junk" that others dont,like accesories for decorations ,make it yourself stuff etc. PROS: choices CONS: not many store locations more

I love art supplies and crafts. I do a lot of scrapbooking, painting, and other creative methods of relaxation. Michaels has a huge selection of supplies, tools, and good deals. If you're looking for frames, framing, soap making, knitting, painting, candle making, cake making supplies, etc., then this is the place to go. They also offer various monthly craft classes for the community and do weekly sales. You can find coupons in the Sunday newspaper inserts. My only complaint is that the people here aren't the most cordial individuals. In addition, they aren't always helpful. We had purchased about 12 vases that were tagged as being "on sale." The sales woman doubted us, told us to go back and look again, and seemed a bit frustrated with us for even trying to say that this item was on sale. After going to check, we were completely right about the sale sign. Ultimately, we had to get the saleswoman to go back and check for herself after making it seem like a big inconvenience more
