Extremely unhappy with the slimy advertising tactics! Newspaper ad showed beads from their Bead Gallery line on sale at 40% off. Made the drive only to learn at check-out that just the Green Label out of 5 label colors in the line of beads was valid for the 40% discount. They claimed it was in the ad. Since I had a copy of the ad with me I asked them to show me. It takes a magnifying glass to see it. Manager said it was posted in the aisle, too. After buying only one-third of the beads I had chosen, I went back to the aisle to see for myself. Incredibly minuscule writing relative to the great big signs stating 40% off! I get tired of this kind of crap. The always.slow check-out lines and lack of available service while shopping makes this store simply not worth going anymore. more

Even better than the one in Vancouver, this branch of Michaels is even bigger in term of space and offers a greater selection of supplies. I usually come down here when I have a lot to buy as I would have to pay tax on the items at the Vancouver store. The staff looks a bit harried especially during sale time but they are in general well informed and eager to help you find your items. more

If you want it, Michael's probably has it. Always decent prices, usually good selection of just about any type craft item. Sometimes disorganized, and when sales are going on, you will wait forever to check out. Sometimes they'll let you use more than one of their 40% off coupons on one visit, which makes it worth the wait! more
