Metzger Animal Hospital

This is a very nice hospital, and acceptably nice staff, but the price was ridiculous. I had doubts about the lab results, thinking it had signs of being a lab accident, but was basically told to just believe them. They also seemed to be unaware of alternate forms of medicine forms, which indicates a lack of source awareness. more

I have been a client of Metzger Animal Hospital since it opened. They are the most amazing people in the world. The level of knowledge could not be any higher. All the doctors are kind and always eager to help. It is comforting to know they are always available. Everyone says this clinic is expensive. Maybe it is BUT: 1) they have the equipment and knowledge to treat your pet's health problems. If you have a crisis with your pet that your regular vet cannot address, you are sent to Metzgers. Now you are paying for two vet visits; 2) they have someone at their clinic 24/7 so it is comforting to know that if your pet has to stay overnight there is someone (vet tech) there who is monitoring your pet; 3) they have email and Fred Metzger always responded to me within a short period of time, He has also called me from an airport to address my concerns. I consider this going above and beyond. There are some things you cannot put a price tag on. more

I live about 70 miles from Metzgar, but have found that traveling the distance is VERY worth it for the health of my two boxers. The care they recieve there is outstanding and I know helped to extend the life of one of my boxers that eventually passed away, but I know that Metzgar prolonged her life for several years. Responding to the comment about the prices, I say you only get what you pay for. We have a"lick em and stick em" vet in my area, but the care leaves a great deal to be desired. My one boxer was hospitalized locally over night with NO ONE at the hospital overnight and she had IVs in all night! At Metzgar, there was an attendant all night long, and in the morning the vet would call me for a progress report. I can do nothing but praise Metzgar and am happy to go without something to pay the price for excellant vet care. more

They are nothing short of amazing. They have been caring for our special needs pit mix. I read about being expensive, I drive 3.5 hours each week to take her up there. Their costs are less than 1/3 of what we pay in the Philadelphia region, and their docs are the best. When we had our dog neutered down here, it was 450.00. The surgeries we had done are more than 6000 under what we would have paid here. They are worth every dime. Highly recommend Dr. Metzger, Dr Rider and their caring wonderful staff. more

Metzger animal hospital staff is very friendly and professional. Ive heard nothing but good reviews from other people also. And I think they're one of the very few hospitals in town that have a 24hour emergency line.\r \r However you pay a premium for coming here. They'll charge $37 for advice that I could have gotten on the internet. Neutering a 13 pound dog costs $180 which seems ridiculous when I've heard every where in town averages $70-$110. more

My wife and I got a Siamese kitten and took him to Metzger Animal Hospital to get neutered. They have such friendly and caring people working there. They cared for my pet as if it was there own. I will not trust any other animal hospital with my siamese kitten. I always take him back there for all his shots. I highly recommend this quality animal hospital. more
