My curtains and shade are beautiful and more than i had imagined they wotld be. My decarator was professional, knowledgable and we were so comfortable having her ib our home. The installer was also highky qualified, professional and did an awesome job. more

The process of selecting the right window treatment for my basement office was pleasant. The sales rep came to my office and showed me a variety of shade samples that conformed to my light, privacy, and budget needs. The ordering process was easy. The installer did an efficient and nice job. Everyone was friendly and professional. more

Nazarina did a wonderful job helping me to select just the right style and fabrics for our bedroom and bathroom window treatments. We had used her several years ago for our dining room window treatments, which still look great. Wonderful service from Nazarina and the installer. more

Beautiful custom-made curtains -but unacceptably long wait 10/1/2013

We finally had the custom made curtains we ordered in early july installed yesterday(Sept 30). We did not know that the fabric we ordered would require over a month to be received by the shop before the actual work could be started (another month +). Why did it take one month to receive this fabric ? Where was it coming from and what shipment method was used that would require one month? We should have been told this in advance so we could have picked a fabric that perhaps was already available in the shop. I had to write several emails during this 2 1/2 month period to find out the status of things. There should have been better communication by the shop. The whole experience was not pleasant and since these curtains were for my 93 year old mother it was all the more stressful. We will not use your company again even though the curtains are lovely. The turnaround time is simply too lengthy and communication was poor- and these were not discount curtains by any means. more

A Great Experience! 9/28/2013

I waited a long time to do something with the front windows in my home. I thought long and hard about what I wanted, and when I stopped in at the New York store of Metropolitan Window, I knew it would become a reality. Janet listened to what I had to say and made suggestions but did not ignore my own. Everyone was helpful and friendly, the home visit was a pleasure and installation was clean and professional. Cynthia was great setting up my installation with me while I was out of town. I love the finished windows and feel that I have new friends on Amsterdam Avenue. You have maintained the small, personal footprint of a local community business and that is awesome! Thank you all so much! more

Competitive prices and excellent service. 9/27/2013

This is our third transaction with Metropolitan, as we have made our shade replacement investment over time. Each time the service wins high praise from us. On one occasion, there was shade that didn't fit properly, but the issue was resolved with no problem. I highly recommend them for personal service and a caring, professional staff. more

Product is very satisfactory....customer service, not so much. 9/20/2013

The product and workmanship is excellent. The installer's knowledge and and installation was excellent. However, the customer service needs improvement. We ordered shades on June 3rd, and within a day designer was sent to our home to measure the windows and secure a deposit. We were told that it would takes 3 weeks.....but then it took at least 6 weeks before the shades were ready. When the installer came, one of the three windows had been measured incorrectly, so that shade had to be taken away and recut . We had no idea that it was being recut in Colorado!!! Nobody at the Paramus NJ store seemed to know where our shade was until I personally spoke to the manager, and he explained the situation to me. The entire process from order to final installation took nearly 3 months! ( during a very hot summer!) more

Sales person and installer who visited home were great and product is beautiful. 9/11/2013

My only reservation about giving a full five star review is I heard nothing during the time lapse from initial order mid-June to installation first week in September. Because I had paid about 75% of the 4-digit cost, this lapse was disturbing. more

excellent service, product and follow-up 8/20/2013

I worked with Janet Webster at Metropolitan Window Fashions, and she was very helpful in choosing the right materials and styles. She is really an expert, and it shows - her measurements were exact, and she carefully looked over the apartment to make sure the fabrics we chose matched the lighting situation and the overall feel of the apartment. The installation was also perfect - I had created a space near the windows for the installation to be easy, but the guys who did it said they would have done the moving themselves. Overall, a very positive experience and I would recommend Janet to anyone. more

Great Service & Designer 8/20/2013

The service at the store was excellent. Denise, the designer, came to my home & recommended the perfect solution for our window covering needs. It completed a bathroom we had redone completely three years ago, but hasn't gotten around to the window! Now the entire room looks great & the beautiful Applause shade we bought completed it. more
