i thought vets were supposed to care about animals. i had just gotten my male kitten within the week and hadn't had the chance to get his shots or set up a wellness check with a vet when he got very sick over the weekend of november 19 and 20th. my kitten was dehydrated. we took him to Dr. Metroka because i as informed he had sunday hours and accepted walk in visits. Dr. Metroka was very unprofessional from the moment we walked in. We could hear him speaking to another customer about the unfortunate death of Dr. Michael Leslie. He talked about it as if it was a suicide and was laughing about it as if any part of that situation is funny. I would have left right then but i wanted my kitty to be better. He didn't take the time to warm up to the kitty before flopping him around like a rag doll and opening his mouth and checking him over. He barely listened to me describe the kitty's symptoms. He immediately came to the conclusion that it was feline leukemia and insisted on getting him test more

I have taken different pet cats of mine to Dr. Metroka for over 20 years now. He is competent, efficient, and HONEST. When I first watched him examining my cat, I thought his "bedside manner" was a bit cold. I know now that he does have compassion and caring for animals. He is very good at giving options and is a realist about the costs involved and feelings of the owner. He has always had very fair and reasonable prices compared to other vets in the area.\r \r Here is a true example of Dr. Metroka's honesty. My brother had a cat that I gave to him. Sylvester, my bother's cat, loved canned cat food but was getting serious problems with his teeth and gums. He wasn't eating normally and was loosing weight. My sister recommended a different Vet in the area that she liked, Dr. Farkas. So, I went with my brother to have Dr. Farkas look at him. After the exam, Dr. Farkas gave my brother a quote of $700.00 to remove all of Sylvester's teeth. I was standing there in the room and hear more

I have been taking my pets to this veterinarian for many many years. He is very friendly and always there when you need him. He gives you the services you need without trying to get you to do things that aren't necessary. He is very good with the animals and they all seem to like him. He is also very afordable compared for other doctors in the area. I love this doctor and it is close to home. more
