My auto and home insurance were coming due so I was comparison shopping for the best insurance/cost. Metro Insurance quoted me a cost that would save me about $300. So, I signed up.
What followed was jumps of over $5,000, yes thousands in rates because the agent lied to the underwriter about my location. A promise to cancel and find an alternative led to my $300 savings becoming $100.
Well the next underwriter canceled my auto insurance after 60 days because the agent failed to tell them who lived at the address, license#'s etc. That also led to a entry with Lexis Nexis and my credit rating. (Try getting auto insurance once a company ""cancels"" you).
I independently looked for a different company and found one and am back to a $300 savings.
However, during all this, I had paid my premiums a year in advance and at various times had over $3,000 that was in a ""refund"" status.
Never an apology, or even a call to explain what was going on.
Disaster, after disaster, after disaster.
