Hopefully the beach end will reopen this summer as this
is one of the largest beaches in the middle suburbs of
Michigan. There are a couple miles of picnic area there
also and they have their own swimming pools. We've
been coming here for ages, ever since I was a kid.
Even though there are tons of parking space...it does
get pretty full in the summer, especially on real hot
days. You can get a summer pass to defray the
costs of parking there. There bathrooms are always
clean and orderly. They have soda stands for munchies
and pop. You can't Miss Metropolitan Beach right off
Metro Highway (16 Mile Road) and Jefferson. There
are signs everywhere pointing the way.
