Lynette Driver of Metamorphasis is a fantastic hairstylist. She's very friendly and always accomodating to what the customer wants. I feel very comfortable and conifdent every time I visit Lynette that I'll walk away with a wonderful hairstyle and color. As a matter of fact, with Lynette I have gotten the best haircuts I've ever had. I have long, thick, naturally curly hair which is very difficult to work with normally; I normally would pin it back or put it in a ponytail because of how unruly it was. However after having my hair cut by Lynette for the last six months or so, I have been able to wear my hair without pins and it has such a natural style that I can often skip a day of styling and just brush my hair and go. She is also a fantastic colorist as well. I've received so many compliments about my highlights, which look very natural and have not damaged my hair. I can't say enough about Lynette as a hairstylist. She's awesome and I'll be sad to move back to the east coast later this year - wish I could take her with me! more

Though not every single one of the people here has washed/cut/styled my hair, what I can say is that every time i have gone in they welcome me with a smile and the stylist who has been doing my hair does a fantastic job and I am now loyal to her 100%. It took me 5 years in this area to find this place and my great new stylist, and now I won't go anywhere else. She does a fantastic job and I would definitely recommend this salon. Jazmine at Metamorphosis is the BEST hair stylest I've ever had. She pays attention to what I want and makes my hair georgous every time. I'm writing this because she gave me a color/cut last week and I was in the grocery store this morning and the woman behind me commented on how beautiful my hair was and where did I go. Also, Jazmine is just about the sweetest girl. She always makes me feel very comfortable. I would highly recommend her if you need someone excellent! Pros: Always reliable and friendly more

I went there to have my hair color lifted and deposited a couple shades lighter. It seemed easy enough to me, but they not only did they butcher my haircut, my hair turned out orange instead of blond. They didn't leave the color in long enough, and were in a rush. When it came out orange --- mind you, BRIGHT ORANGE, they told me it was the color I asked for, and to pay. I told them to fix it, as it was obviously not the color I chose, and she was like if I fix it, it's going to be $90 extra. Don't go to Metamorphosis, it's a JOKE. Pros: Needed to get rid of excess money --- not. Cons: Rude, hurried and over-rated. more

I am so happy that I found a great stylist on my first try moving from out of town. I usually have to be unhappy for a while until I find some one to get it right. I read the reviews and decided to try Lynette at Metamorphosis Salon. She did a great job and listened to exactly what I wanted. She educated me on several products that have done wonders for me. Lynette has been cutting my whole family's hair for over 12 years. My very curly hair is challenging to cut and style, yet she always uses the latest techniques and products to make my hair look it's best. She is an expert at haircolor as well. She always starts out asking what I want, then suggests what might look best. She has never steered me wrong, and my color always turns out rich and complementary. I have very curly hair and I wear it short. I have had many bad experiences at other places, but I wnet to Lynette, and she has done wonders with my haircut and color. She always listens to what I want and is always honest about whether it will look good on me or not . I will never go to anyone else! OMG! What a fabulous experience! First off, let me tell you that I work hard for my money(I'm sure just like the rest of you) and when I drive into Monterey just for a haircut it better be worth it. Needless to say this salon was ABSOLUTELY WORTH the money. I found Metamorphosis by word of mouth(just like all great things). I work in a retail store in Salinas and I see lots of people throughout the day. But one lady I met stood out of the crowd. HER HAIR WAS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! So I asked her who did her hair. She told me she went to a salon called Metamorphosis in Monterey. She gave me the address and told me to make my appointment with Tammy. And so a week later I was in her chair. Tammy knows her stuff! I was amazed at the expertise and conviction this woman had about hair. Talk about professional! Needless to say my hair too looked ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! The salon has a very friendly welcoming envirornment. Everyone there was so nice. Later on I found out that Tammy was the salon owner and international platform hair artist! She was so down to earth and friendly that I would'nt have known she ran the place. THANK YOU TAMMY! And thanks to your wonderful staff! I have already recommended several people to her and boy do they love me for it.:) I'VE FOUND MY SALON FOR LIFE!!! more

I went to Whitney for a wax and Jasmine for a haircut and highlights...loved both of them! Whitney was sweet and personable. Very comfortable environment. Jasmine and I were completely on the same page. I've had the same drab haircut forever and she gave me some ideas and I came out of there with the best haircut I've ever had! She was great, funny, nice, and very professional. This place is great!!! more

I've been going to Lana for over 2 years and have never been disappointed. She just moved into Metamorphosis and does hair wonderfully. She will not disappoint. Tammy has done my hair and color for several years now and I wouldn't go anywhere else. She is very good at listening to what I want and need and I always have good luck with her product recommendations. She keeps up on current techniques and scientific advances with regards to haircare, she is great! I have been getting my hair cut by Tammy for the past eight years. She is truly a professional, in every sense of the word. Not only does she own and operate the shop, but she services her own clients and also does a lot of teaching of other hair stylists, both at home and out of town. Tammy is nationally known and respected for her outstanding expertise with all types of hair. Try her. You won't be disappointed!! Being new to the area and need of a cut and color, I tried metamorphosis based on the reviews here at City Search. The salon is modest but warm, casual and welcoming. I am not someone who enjoys commercial salons so this was right up my alley. Art did my hair and I am not exaggerating when I say it was one of the best cuts I have ever hadand I am a pretty hard sell. He listened to my concerns and what I didnt like about my current cut and then worked his magic to a beautiful cut that corrected everything I had disliked about it before. More importantly, he achieved the cut in a way that made it easy for me to do my own hair and have it look as good as it did when I left the salon. The price is not cheap, you will pay what you would pay at a high end commercial spa if not a little more but it is worth the money for the talent you get. Art is the best thing that ever happened to my hair. He gave me a modern, fun cut that reflects my personality and makes me look fabulous. He's very engaging and fun to talk with throughout the visit. He also knows how to work the hair so that it makes your natural beauty look even better! I will not go to anyone but him from now on.
