Charged hundreds of dollars for setup and follow up service calls. Maximum speed of about 100 kb/s down. Usually it is about 20 kb/s, if it works at all. Weeks go by with no internet at all. Tried to sell an upgrade to a higher tier of service, which seems like a scam if they can barely deliver 1% of the promised speed at the current tier. more

I have had this company for 8 years now, nothing but issues with the service, Slow, dropping out, over priced and you never get what you are paying for. Do not bother calling in for support. Every time I do I get told its my equipment, when they send a tech out he just sits at my dinning room table, never even looking at my connection. Says there is nothing he can do. Worst company ever. more

I can't watch TV play games, do school work, or even just look something up for a question, that's how bad you are, do you not think about getting meddling anymore, if anybody looks at this comment, do not get it I'm only 2 houses outside tower, and I don't even get service 2 bars, that's it, and they say, it's fast, and it's everything that our equipment, that is a third party, everything is wrong, but it's never their fault they shouldn't even exist more

My name is terri cluckey i have my internet through you and i been paying 89 bucks a month for high speed internet so my son can do his home schooling i am upset with your internet do to me paying before the due date every month but not getting the package i pay for i havent had in a couple years i dont understand why i have to pay for a technician to come here to fix the problem when i been paying for my survives that i dont receive i am highly upset with your internet i would love to speak to a supervisor on my account and how this can be fixed sense i been paying for a service i havent had. Please look it up and you will see i just hope your internet service makes it right with me instead of taking more money from me and not getting the service i been paying on please contact me.. If I could give their phone service and smarmy promises ZERO stars I would. I seriously question if these people even know what they are doing although they certainly know how to deceive, rub shoulders w/ the perceived 'important' people in the area, and show that community support now...means poor customer service later can be forgiven. And it is ALWAYS someone else's fault...or your equipment...or a third party equip or provider...blah blah blah. Total B.S. Nice Strategy Metalink! more

I wish I would have read this before I got with them. Internet service is so poor, first they told me that there equipment is not compatible with belkin routers, then the next person I have talked to said that there's so much traffic coming from the router all my devices were logged off but there was lots off traffic going on thst was slowing down the speed, he asked who all knew the password to the router and I said no one I've only had the Internet for 2 days and to this days it is slow right now I'm using my data from my phone because it keeps booting me off more

My father s stuck on Metalink, and now I am and it has been the exact same thing for both of us. They start you off, and service is spotty (which is normal, it's wireless), but it works. Go a few months down the pipe and your download speeds go haywire, and the upload drops to Kbps when it should be Mbps. Not only that, I have connected my computer directly to the modem, bypassing the router, and there is ZERO change. MetaLink, may have nice employees, but corporate is just twisting whatever money they can get out of you. Also, if I wanted to switch to a cable ISP, I can't because MetaLink has my area under their control. A class action lawsuit needs to be started and this business shut down. more

Lied about trial period if you want to try it there is no trial they will try to stick with install than 200 fee early diconnect more

When I first got Metalink the service was great. Being out in the country where no other service is offered, seemed like a golden deal. But as time has passed the service has diminished. Slow download speeds, can't run netflix, or hulu on the t.v. Can't download photos from the net. I call tech support and have been given a million and 1 excuses. From your router is bad to its windy. Bought a new router at their request and it was 90 degrees no wind over the weekend. Don't be late on your bill, a nice hefty $45 fee is assessed. They required a 2 year contract when I signed up and now I feel stuck with the bad service and I feel I as lied to. They don't have the equipment or bandwidth to satisfy the customer demand and when complaints come in it is easy to blame the customer. Do not recommend them at this time unless some major changes are in store. Also would recommend checking out the BBB website...they have several complaints. more

I HAVE BEEN WITH METALINK FOR 9 YEARS. UP UNTILL LAST YEAR SERVICE WAS AS PROMISED. BUT FOR LAST YEAR IT HAS BEEN HORRIBLE. UPLOAD SPEEDS OF 2 OR 3 KBPS WITH DOWN LOAD SPEEDS ALL OVER THE PLACE. I HAVE TALKED WITH A LOT OF PEOPLE ON THIS TOWER AND ALL HAVE SAME PROBLEM. METALINK SAID I WAS OUTDATED AND SO I PAID THE BIG BUCKS TO HAVE THEM UPGRADE. NO CHANGE. THESE PEOPLE ARE DEFRAUDING EVERYONE. THEY ARE OVER SELLING WHAT THEY CAN PROVIDE. BUT SINCE FOR US THAT HAVE NO OTHER OPTIONS EXCEPT DIAL UP THEY GET AWAY WITH IT. WHERE IS THE FCC OR GOVERNMENT AGENCY'S AT THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO PROTECT THE CONSUMERS FROM FRAUD? THEY ARE GETTING RICH OFF RIPPING PEOPLE OFF. UNFORTUNATLY THIS IS BECOMEING THE STANDARD IN THIS COUNTY WHAT WITH CELL PHONE PROVIDERS DOING THE SAME THING (THROTTLEING) RATHER THAN SPENDING PROFITS TO UPGRADE THEIR SERVICE THEY ARE JUST POCKETING THE MONEY. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND METALINK TO ANYONE NOR WILL ANY OF MY NEIGHBORS. more

High packet loss.. Speed is all over the place. I have the extreme package and can see the tower. I'm on the Hicksville tower and was told by a Metalink Tech(off the record) the tower is over capacity. Also told they are working on a solution. That was 6 months ago. Don't get me wrong, they have the nicest people on the planet working there, but they need to do some technology upgrading. more

When I first started with Metalink as a wireless internet company, they were very good. Their service was good, the speeds were as advertised, very little downtime. After being a loyal customer, who always pays their bill on time (auto-pay), I now can't even get them to reply to a phone call or email regarding the problems that I'm having with my internet. The speeds are okay moste of the time, although it isn't unusual to have upload speeds that are down in the range of dial-up. However, I'm consisitently seeing packet loss and jitter. Sometimes the packet loss is as much as 40%+, which makes the online experience pretty miserable. So far, their only solution is for me to pay them an ADDITIONAL $125.00 to update my bridge. Not that they claim that this will help the packet loss, but they claim that it will make my download and upload speeds more stable. As soon as another high speed service provider is available in this area, I will be switching. more

'Metalink Technologies' I love this business.I have lots of friends who use metalink.They seem to be one of the cheaper places in town.Which is always a plus.Very convinant location. more
