MESON ON LOOP 1604 AND HARDY OAK IS THE BEST IN SAN ATONIO. We went last Night and had an enjoyable visit. I order a cusmopolitan martini and husband ordered a great goose vodka martini which they have in special.They was very well prepared, we to the waiter to recomment a bottle of wine to go with my husband pepper steak which is a. New York cut of beef with a crust of black pepper cooked to midium red and topped with a Cognac cream sauce, recommend a bottle a chilian Cabernet which was an excellent wine for $26.00.The cream brulee and coffee as dessert are greasy at meson also. The ambiance with a soft music is very nice to keep a conversation. more

Excelent 8/28/2012

On St. Valantine Day My wife and sister in love went to Meson and We had very good time the lamb special was outstanding,the piano and the service was superior We recomment Meson at anytime. since 1995 Meson keep it good taste and style. This lovely restaurant moved from De Zavala to Hardy Oak and North1604 East, at Stone Oak Area. Pros: It was easy parking., very good place, very nice service Cons: I do not any . more

We`re staying at a Hotel where, I usually stay, when We visit San Antonio, Was my wife,s Birthday, We asked to one the ladies that work at our hotel,s front desk for a nice restaurant and the attendant recommended Meson European Restaurant the one that is at N. Loop 1604 E. And Hardy Oak blvd. The restaurant was no that busy, thing that work well for us the food and service ware out standing, the price was very reasonable, food was very fresh and well prepared The owner find out about our special occasion and sent a dessert with candle. We are not of the kind that like \r getting thing free, but he gesture are very appreciated and we left very good tip to the gentleman that was serving to us. Rec comment Meson to any body wanting to enjoy a nice meal. more

We hear many things about meson, before we went to see a movie We was speaking with another couple we met and they recommended Meson.We desired to give it a try and We glad we did. The ceasar salad with Romanes heart, fresh garlic, anchovy filet, prepared table side was very nice and the riveted cut of beef served with the bernaise sauce on the side for $21.95 was big and very good they have a full bar with a large wine selection at a very good price. We will be back many time. more

The food is old and dated. I got sick off the Béarnaise sauce that was served with my steak. The reason I know this is because that is the only thing I had that my husband did not. My husband tried to tell the management they might want to check their sauce and then the management immediately tried to blame me for eating too much. I only ate about 15 bites before I was sick. Today is Wednesday. We ate at Meson on Saturday night. Looking back, we should have left as soon as we arrived. Meson was totally empty when we walked in the door. There was not another table the entire time we were there. My husband is an Executive Chef and has been classically trained under a few well-known chefs. We should have known better. Watch out….don’t get sick yourself. more

Excellent food, service, and ambiance! 12/25/2011

My husband and I had a nice romantic dinner here a few days ago and I am still dreaming about the food we had. The chicken marsala and steak was cooked perfectly!! All side dishes complemented the main dishes quite well. The service could not have been better. The entire waitstaff was very attentive, but never seemed to be hovering or bothersome either. The atmosphere was gracefully refined and inviting. I can not wait to go back again! more

My family and I have been eating at Meson's for at least 16 years. The atmosphere is clean and very elegant. The food is G-R-E-A-T! Some of our favorite dishes are: Grilled Chicken, Grilled Trout, Grilled Salmon, Grilled Shrimp and Chicken Marco Polo. The pasta is the best in town. The hot buttered rolls are delicious. Deserts are generous portions. Our favorite deserts are chocolate cake, cream brulee and cheesecake topped w/ith homemade raspberry sauce. When out of town family members come, their first stop is to dine at Meson's. Over the years, I have purchased well over $3,000.00 in gift cards to share with my clients and friends the BEST kept secret in town. The owner, Martin Cuevas is very personable and has always come to our table to greet us. more

They have the best steak and seafood in town! 9/27/2011

I gave them 5 stars because my mouth is watering right now. I came to San Antonio on a business trip from New York, and one of my colleagues recommended Meson, since I was craving Steak Diane. Well, I ended up going for a seafood plate, tempted by its name, ""seafood aphrodisiac."" And I don't know if it actually elevated my libido, but it was one of the most delicious seafood pasta dishes I have ever tried. My friend ordered the steak, which smelled amazing and was cooked table side for us! The ambiance is very relaxing, the decor doesnt necessarily represent today's european aesthetics. Its more classical looking. and the staff was very attemptive. It is on the pricier side, but all the food was so fresh, and well cooked you get what you pay for. Overall I had a great experience. If I get the chance to go back again, now I know where to go and eat. more

Not Worth it!!!!!!!!! 9/17/2011

It was like an episode out of Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen nightmares. It was up there with one of the worst dining experiences ever. The self seating and seeing 3 couples there on a Saturday night should have been an indication to reconsider my options. The menu is overpriced for the quality and quantity of food. The atmosphere was like a take back with the 80's music.The cart side salad service needs to be retired I was not impressed at all. The entrees were not worth the price I paid. The scallops where just battered and cooked in butter, as far as the lobster I've had better at red lobster. I could have gotten more for my money from Silo down the road. I not sure what the other reviewers where talking about I would not even give this place a second chance thought!!! don't waste your time or money. more

Great food!! 3/6/2011

I?m a frequent client of Meson. I have tried most of the dishes (all good), but my preferred one is Carnald ala Meson?. Is a duck breast with an exotic red wine sauce?. I just love it. Service is also great and the ambience is like a classic European restaurant (Small and luxury decorated). Sometimes they have alive piano music. I definitely recommend it. more

My wife and I went to Meson last weekend for the first time. A couple of good friend had recommended it to us, and, we had no idea what we had been missing! Upon stepping into the restaurant, you know you are in for a treat. The atmosphere and decorations are beautiful: a mix of retro-europe and old hollywood glamour. But nothing compares to the food! We started out with an order of escargot and tortellini carbonara... I think Im addicted to their tortellini carbonara now. The dish was simply delicious, and perfectly cooked. For our entrees, my wife ordered the low-carb treat composed of grilled lobster tailed and grilled beef tenderloin. They were nicely prepared and served with a side of steamed veggies and the most delicious bernaisce sauce my wife has ever tasted. As for me, I opted for the duck. Let me say, that I have never been a fan of duck, but they have just changed my mind. It was prepared to perfection! and the red wine sauce was savory and delicious. Although, we were already full, we still wanted to try a dessert. We asked the waiter for suggestions, and he told us that their creme brulee was home-made. We tried it, and it undoubtedly was the cherry on top of a great dining experience. I would recommend Meson to anyone... To dine there truly is an experience. Pros: great food, wonderful atmosphere, great service Cons: there should be more than one location more

A Wonderful Welcome to San Antonio Eatery 3/8/2010

My wife and I moved to San Antonio last summer. We love European food and our real estate agent recommended Meson to us. We didnt find time to got until last month, and man, were we missing out on something incredible! The service, the ambiance, the music and food are all superb. Since then we have become regulars. My wife enjoys the french grilled lamb chops while the grilled salmon is my favourite. Last week, tho, I asked our waiter to recommended a beef dish, and he recommended the grilled beef tenderloin, andit was the best I have ever had. It was juicy, tender and cooked to perfection. I recommended this place to all my family and friends! Pros: Food, Service, Wine Selection, Decour, Atmosphere, Music more

HORRIBLE DINING EXPERIENCE! 2/15/2010

My husband, daughter and son-in-law went to Meson's celebrate Valentine's Day on Feb. 13, 2010. It was 7:30 p.m. and there were a few open tables in both dining rooms with no wait line. We were seated almost immediately - in front of the kitchen door. We were given a limited menu from which we placed our order, reserving our wine choice until we finished our cocktails. When our salads were brought, we asked for the wine list. It took several requests to the waitstaff including our waiter (who had frequently disappeared) until we finally received a wine list. We ordered wine with our meal but our waiter didn't even attempt to bring it until we were completely finished with our meal. My husband was given the wrong side dish and even after telling the waiter, he did not receive the correct side dish. The manager came to our table and asked if everything was ok and we told him that we were waiting for the correct side dish and it STILL never came! My son-in-law's meal was brought about 10 minutes AFTER ours and he had the SAME entree as my daughter! Our waiter apologized for his poor service and later the manager extended his apologies for the poor service at our table that evening, stating that they had some problems. Our waiter gave us a complimentary dessert for our inconveniences but that was a paltry attempt to satisfy our disappointment. We originally requested that our bills be separate for each couple but our waiter gave us a grand total on one bill. He realized his mistake and came back with two bills giving each couple the WRONG bill. Together, we spent almost $200 for a horrible dining experience. For the prices on their menu, service should be top notch and should live up to the expectation of FINE EUROPEAN DINING. At the very least, the manager should have compted one meal for each couple. (My husband did not receive the meal that he paid for and my son-in-law was served after everyone was half finished with their meals) I can't believe that they still charged my husband a full price for an incomplete meal. We will NEVER go there again. Be forewarned, this is an overpriced restaurant that falls short of a European Dining Experience. Don't waste your money! Pros: Hard rolls and salads were good Cons: Extremely POOR service more

Great Food! 11/9/2009

We went for the first time this past weekend, and the food was absolutely outstanding. The table-side caesar for two was perfectly prepared and delicious. My veal piccata was equally good as was my wife's veal marsala. Five stars for food. The ambience was also good. Pros: Supurb table side Caesar salad Cons: Very poor service more

I had dinner last night and found this lovely and charming restaurant to be the finest here in San Antonio. The food was superb--everything cooked to perfection.
