Best dinner out I've had in a long time! My husband and I enjoyed an appetizer of baked brie wrapped in phyllo dough with seasonal fruit and candied walnuts, I had the Salmon Veronique with beurre blanc ( French wine & butter sauce) over mashed potatoes with asparagus. Best salmon I've ever had, melt in your mouth! He had the New York strip steak, he said it was cooked perfectly and delicious! He also had the twice baked potato, so big he couldn't finish it! To top it off we had the chocolate cake, it was like a layered mousse with dark chocolate cake and ganache ( fudge like frosting). If you're looking for a fine dining experience then look no further than Mesa Street Bar and Grill located near the Don Haskins Center! EVERYTHING was so good! If you are looking for a quality Wine Bar & Steak House that you would find in any major city - this is it ! Jazz playing in the background, a ""Wine Spectator"" quality wine list and great steaks. This is what you would expect to find in New York. You will pay very reasonable prices for the wine, but the food is priced as in any major city. I was pleasantly surprised and plan to return soon. Reservations are not required at this restaurant, contrary to what some may think. The service was very good, extremely attentive. The setting is beautiful, especially if you dine outside. The wine list is brilliant. Pros: Parking, Excellent Service, Wine Cons: The Food! more

this is the only restaurant where I feel I getting the most out of what I pay for, good quality, good food, good taste, a little pricy fresh ingredients, my favorite a good dine experience, which is not easy to find in el paso. A group of 6 friends my wife, and myself (Couples night) went on a week night and had the best time. The service was outstanding and the wines were served perfectly. I didn't know that they had such a great list, also didn't know they won 2 awards for it. Maybe they need to get the word out better. The steaks are amazing, especialy the ""in house"" dry-aged, every bite was fantastic. Our service was impecable and the care and detail that went into every plate was perfect. We will be returning to Mesa Street Grill often, in fact we might break the different restuarant every week tradition. The one complaint I have is I wanted to be closer to the fire place, but we didn't know it was there and we made our reservation late. Check it out and make a reservation early. The best room in the house fills nightly along with the tempature controlled patio. Pros: Wine List, decor, patio, steaks and seafood. Cons: need reservations more

We went here with another couple for lunch on a Sunday. Pulling into the parking lot, you couldn't even tell if they were open or not so one of us got out and tried the door first. The food wasn't anything super spectacular, but better than what you could find at most of the ""pack em in, get em out"" national chains. However, we thought the service was very slow, even for El Paso standards. Our water and tea glasses were empty more than once and we had to wait for the waitress to appear (we were the only ones seated in the ""fireplace"" room most of the time we were there). I'll go back for the food, but the service needs to be a little bit more attentive --- maybe I've just been spoiled with the Houston restaurant scene. Better ""Opened/Closed"" signage is needed.
