Diner fare, hopefully, because that's what you're getting. In the land of foodies and yuppies (the Bay Area as a whole, not the neighborhood per se) Merritt has stuck to its guns: potato salad, egg salad sandwich, Jell-o, ice cream, and bacon. That's not all, but that's the basic theme. While their food is plenty cheap, the attached bakery, inexplicably, has those luridly colored dinosaur-covered sheet cakes selling for huge amounts of money. How? Only Merritt Bakery knows, and I doubt they're telling.
