Merchants Restaurant

This a great atmosphere if you want to impress the one you love. The service accommodated me and my now 'fiance'. We savoured every minute of our evening. The touch of the windows overlooking Broadway and the fireplace upstairs creates a very intimate feeling. I'll never forget Merchant's b/c it topped off my engagement proposal. more

We had a business dinner / awards ceremony at Merchants a few weeks ago, and not only was the food wonderful, the service staff was exceptional and went out of their way to accommodate our very needy group. The events coordinator made sure that every detail was covered, and our experience could not have been better. Check it out for yourself! Six of us went here before a show at the Ryman. We had reservations for 5pm thinking that would allow us plenty of time to make the show. Wrong! The service was so slow that when we finally got our food we barely had time to eat before making the show. 3 of us got salads. The other 3 got steaks, but considering how small they were it shouldn't have taken 3 hours to cook them. Of the 6 meals, only 2 were what had been ordered, but we didn't have time to reorder. Our bill was over $400!!! Since we were entertaining some of our friends we didn't feel it was appropriate to argue about the price of the bill in front of them, so we were stuck paying. I did call the next day to question the bill, but no one seemed to care. Cons: expensive, slow service, tasteless food more

I had my rehearsal dinner at Merchant's during the month of July. The service staff was wonderfull, the banquet coordinator was friendly and easy to work with, and the food was good. They even printed a personalized menu for our event. I recommend this restaurant for these types of events. They go out of their way to make you feel special. more
