Marlene Makes Me Look Good 5/13/2010

Marlene is simple the best at cutting men?s hair. She is excellent at listening to requests and understands hair design extremely well. Since Marlene started cutting my hair, everyone asks me, who cuts your hair. I could not give a better endorsement then that! Pros: Great at interpreting the style I want. more

Beverly Hills Best Kept Secret 4/13/2010

I've been going to Marlene for haircuts for almost 18 years. At the beginning she was the best kept secret in Beverly Hills and Hollywood, with Producers, Directors and Actors going to her. Now the word has spread and her clientele includes lots of business men and and people not in the Industry. But she only cuts mens' hair and she treats everyone as if they were a celebrity and makes them look like a star. I can honestly say that I did not look my best when I started going to her and that she has been the hairstylist for my career since I started in the business. I have gone to her before every major headshot photo shoot, audition, TV appearance, etc. for what I called my ""Lucky Haircut."" Don't know what I would have done without her. Amazing haircuts by an amazing person 2/25/2010

I was a caregiver for a gentleman and every week for 6 years, we went to see Marlene for a haircut. Not only did he get the best haircut in town but he also got lots of love and attention from Marlene. She was an absolute sweetheart and was so gentle and nice to us that it was one of the highlights of our week to go and see her. She is a true professional when it comes to cutting hair. 20 Years with Marlene 2/20/2010

I've been Marlene's customer for 20 years. 20 years! On my first appointment she said, ""a good haircut should be the same 3 weeks later...just longer. It isn't supposed to change...just grow."" And that is exactly how she cuts. Ever single time I get a haircut, someone in my office or at home comments what a great haircut I get. Marlene's the best. Don't hesitate. Best Haircut in town!!!!! 1/9/2010

My grandfather, my father, my uncle and my cousin have all been going to Marlene for a number of years....that's 3 generations of men in my family! I finally decided to give Marlene a shot a couple of years ago when I turned 30 and I couldn't have made a better decision. Marlene is AWESOME! My hair looks better than it's ever looked and I walk out of there with a great haircut and a smile on my face every time. She's truly a gifted stylist and an absolute pleasure to converse with! I have been going to Marlene for 10 years......Would anyone go back for ten years if the haircuts were not great???? Marlene's shop is conveniently located in Beverly Hills with convenient parking just around the corner. I have been getting my haircut by Marlene for over 15 years and I have never been disappointed. She's warm and friendly and keeps up on the current styles. Consider yourself lucky to get an appointment , as she is a stylist that is in demand. And to top it all off...she always has treats for my dog Luci. Can only give Marlene the highest marks. Once she has cut your hair........you will always come back. Great haircut and experience 12/22/2009

Marlene did a great job in fixing the problems that were created as a result of previous cuts. When I walked into my house the first thing that my wife said was your hair looks great. Like other reviewers here, I have been getting my hair cut by Marlene for a long time (about 15 years). I followed her from Umberto's to Tina Cassaday's, and I've been getting a great cut every time. She's helped me look good from my teen years into professional adulthood. I enjoy the experience each time, and I always know that I will walk away looking good. I have been going to Marlene for the past 15 years. I don't live near Beverly Hills but still drive there to have her cut my hair. She is a delightful lady who knows her profession very well. She can give you whatever you want in a great hair style. I was lucky enough to find her when my previous stylist who ironically worked almost next door to her moved away to Marina Del Rey. I would recommend her without hesitation to any gentlemen who needs his hair cut and wants to be confident it will be done right! Pros: Marlene always gives you a great cut and is a hoot to boot! Well, the length of time that I have been with Marlene will speak for itself. I was referred to Marlene at Umberto Men when it opened nearly 20 years ago and have never looked back. Prior to that I had tried most of the well regarded men's stylists in the area with hit and miss results. As others have pointed out, Marlene is simply superb at her craft. You should take note that she is actually a licensed barber -- a rare find these days. Whether is is a haircut, color or shave with a mini-facial you are guaranteed to be impressed with her skill and smitten by her charm and wit. I have since moved from Westwood to the South Bay and rarely make the trek up the 405 any more Pros: Highly skilled and personable. Specializes in men's hair. Cons: None whatsoever. more

15 years of great haircuts 11/12/2009

When I first came back home to LA after college, I began a long (and frustrating) search to find a good haircut. I tried cheap, expensive and everything in between. I eventually ended up at Umberto's (which at the time wasn't as well known for men's hair care)...and lucked upon Marlene. 15 years later Marlene is still the one for me. Pros: Too many to list more
