Menlo Park Hardware

I visited this store yesterday to pick up a box of fuses. When I went to pay the man, who seemed to be in charge, ran me up for a total of $9.25. I gave him a $20 and he gave me $.75 in change. When I told him I gave him $20, he treated me like I was a thief and argued with me in front of all the other customers. He finally said he would go check the video. After waiting for almost 20 minutes, he returned and gave me my $10 in correct change. This encounter has left such a bad taste that I will NEVER pay cash in this store and highly recommend that all customers do the same. The store itself is well stocked and convenient for residents so it certainly isn't worth it to go somewhere else but be careful at he pay out, as they will try to cheat you. more

I can find what I want at this hardware store, whereas I cannot at the Ace hardware store, a mile from where I live. The stores have two different audiences. The one in Menlo Park is definitely centered on service and the homeowner! They have the items that the Big Box stores have dropped by the wayside. more

The staff was very patient and helpful with me and my son. We were looking for various items to help with my son's mission project for fourth grade. They have a wide variety of items and the staff was very knowledgeable and nice. more

The staff here is extremely unfriendly.\r They Followed me around the store and my friend picked up some pens and we brought them over to someone else to show him and then we put them down on a rack next to it and the employee came up to my friend, asking him if he stole anything and when he truthfully said no they told him to never come back and pushed him out of the door\r It's not like we looked like suspicous young shoplifters, being 31. more

Helpful staff. You can usually get in and out in a few minutes with what you needed. If they don't carry an item they point you to a place that can help you. Talk to the older folks they usually can help you out better though the younger guys can take you to the right spot in the store faster. PROS: Friendly, save time CONS: marginally higher prices more
