Dr. Bronk has a very pleasant manner, but when faced with a poor surgical outcome, his performance does not meet this patient's standards.
Dr. Bronk performed a groin hernia repair with mesh (plug-and-a-patch). When faced with obvious neuropathic pain post operatively, his demeanor shifted towards a more defensive posture, he ruled out surgical solutions, and simply referred the patient to a pain clinic where the patient languished for a year. A second surgeon removed the mesh and found the mesh plug pushing down on a major nerve. The second surgery made a great improvement, though did not completely solve the problem which the patient will have for life.
Dr. Bronk may have made an surgical error, and he could have done more post-operatively to see the patient through to a full recovery.
