I would have to disagree with the previous comment. I've been going to Memphis Fragrance for almost 10 years now and have found their customer service to be one of my main reasons of coming back each time.
I apologize that that person felt that way, but in no way do I think it was intentional. The owners changed a while back, but I'd say they are just as cordial and welcoming as the previous owners, if not more so. Every time I walk in, they greet me by name and ask me if I want to get my usual fragrances (Donna Karen Casmir Mist and Coco Mademoiselle - If you haven't tried these, you have to!). Whenever I want to try something new, I've always gone home with something, even if it is a small bottle. Sometimes I can't understand some of the words the lady says, but she always smiles and is patient in trying to find something for me.
Also, I know my fragrances but I don't even know what a ""gourmand"" is? And a great number of fragrances have floral and spicy scents mixed together. You'd be hard-pressed to find a fragrance with ONLY spice (because it is often for certain noses and many perceive only spicy perfumes and colognes as too strong).
Sephora doesn't have NEARLY the selection NOR the prices that Memphis Fragrance does. You can bet on that! Online shopping can be good sometimes though. Personally, however, with all this identity theft, I'm reluctant to give out my credit card information online if I can help it, which is why I go to the store to get my fragrances.
Hope that helped in providing a different opinion! I buy me and my husband's perfume from Memphis Fragrance all the time and I've already recommended the store to all my girlfriends. I highly recommend you try it out for yourself!! It'll save you the lines and prices at the department store and give you the exact same quality.
Pros: customer service, selection, variety
Cons: brand-new fragrances aren't always in stock
