I would give this no stars if it were possible on this website. I have been eating at this restaurant since it had opened. (10 Yrs or so) It always had great food, great presentation, fabulous service and a great wine selection. But as the prices became outrageous ($12 for a glass of wine!) I have stayed away since 2008. My husband and I decided to revisit as the food had always been spectacular. Let me tell you about our $105 disapointment:\r
\r
I ordered the cold seafood salad appitizer which was the special that the waiter described as crab meat, shrimp, calamari, and scallops served over a bed of greens with an olive oil dressing. ($15) OMG! Frozen miniature cocktail shrimp, fake crabmeat, 4 pieces of calamari and a few scallops thrown into a large bowl on top of a few sprigs of parsley. \r
\r
Next up: Spaghettini alle Vongole\r
Spaghetti tossed with clams sauteed in olive oil, garlic, hot pepper flakes and a white wine sauce.\r
\r
This turned out to be about 1 lb of pasta that was undercooked, way under al dente, thrown on top of a bunch of clam shells. The red pepper flakes turned out to be slices of halapeno peppers! \r
\r
Let's discuss the wine by the glass selection: for the white wine: the choice was white zinfindel, pino grigio or a cheap california chardonay. Only $8 per glass now. Yikes!\r
\r
And let's talk about the assembly line service in the dining room. We saw the waiter twice..once when he took our order and then when he delivered the check. The bus boy delivered the food. The waiter never asked how we were, how the food was that was served, and never asked if we wanted another glass of wine or if we needed anything. \r
\r
The most disgraceful thing about the demise of this Bux Mont award winning restaurant is that chef Angelo knows better than this. He knows how to serve great food and provide excellent service and presentation. \r
Shame on him. Save yourself a $100+ disapointment. Stay away!!!
